The frustrating thing about him or any other manager coming in is that players who WE know aren't good enough, get a clean slate. It will take a few weeks of Ayew/Thomas etc before he realises that they are crap and we really dont have a few weeks to spare.

Anyone thinking we will play front foot aggressive style football will be in for a shock. We might do for his first game but be under no illusion that he will be called into a meeting with Rudkin and Top and told under no circumstances to stop that nonsense.

I think they let him do his thing until the end of the season.

I’m not so sure, first few games under Ruud we played with a press and then all of a sudden that just stopped and we went back to the possession based slop we are used too and went on an awful run.

He has a very strong preference for fast attacking players who can press relentlessly and enable quick transitions from defence to attack. Ayew is literally the opposite of a Rowett-style player.

Hope you are right as we surely have the players to play 2015/16 style counter attack football with Fats, Daka and Mav being fed through passes by Mukasa. The big question is how GR will be able to create a solid defensive base from the players at his disposal. Such a shame that Souttar is still not back. Hopefully Lascelles is back at least, in which case I'd go for Aluko, Lascelles, Nelson and VK as the back 4. But I'm sure that he'll start Ricky P as he is skipper.

This is the concern.

Do they realise that survival means we have to let Rowett do his thing,  or Friday night does Rowett get given the team sheet and told how to set up and play.

Up until now, teams knew exactly what they were getting. I like to think a change will throw many off guard and work on our favour.

Leicester City chairman Top outlines why Gary Rowett was selected for 'fight for survival'
Twenty-four days after Marti Cifuentes' exit, City have hired Gary Rowett on a deal until the end of the season, with 14 games for the new manager to keep them up

Gary Rowett’s “deep knowledge and experience” of the Championship convinced chairman Aiyawatt ‘Top’ Srivaddhanaprabha to place him in charge of Leicester City’s fight for survival.

Appointing Rowett 24 days after Marti Cifuentes’ exit, Top emphasised that avoiding relegation to League One was the sole focus from now until the end of the campaign, with City having dropped into the bottom three at the weekend.

Rowett has been a consistent presence in Championship dugouts over the past 12 years and so knows the league inside out. That has been deemed key.

Gary Rowett explains his plan to save Leicester City from League One relegation

Top told the club: “Gary is a manager with deep knowledge of the Championship and experience of the situation we now face in these final 14 games of the season – a fight for survival in the division.

“It is a task on which the entire club is focused, and we will provide Gary with every support to help us find the solutions we need.”

Top also thanked Andy King, who has overseen the past four games as caretaker boss. King will now return to his role as first-team coach, while Adam Sadler will also remain on the backroom team, with set-piece coach Andy Hughes and incoming assistant manager Callum Davidson also there to assist Rowett.

“I’m grateful to Andy King for the professionalism and dedication with which he has prepared the team for recent matches in challenging circumstances,” Top added.

“Together with the current group of first-team staff, he will remain a valued part of our coaching team, providing important continuity from which Gary and Callum can help to build.”

Rowett’s first game in charge is against one of his former clubs Stoke on Saturday, while he will meet the press for the first time on Thursday afternoon.

Let’s make one thing abundantly clear it should not and will not be Gary Rowetts fault if we end up in league one, look no further than Aiyawatt and Rudkin and their -6 contribution

That’s definitely true and for the bigger picture, the blame completely goes to the ownership. But there cannot be any insinuation that the -6 was the reason we went down. I can already imagine Top’s statement acting like we’ve been hard done to.

It was a season full of pathetic games where we couldn’t compete for 90mins. Bristol, Oxford, Charlton, Southampton (insert pretty much any other game)

We could and should have wiped out that -6 with ease. The attitude of the players this season has been an utter disgrace and if we go down, that is really why.

Is it just me who doubts our Chairman actually said any of that?

What they say he said:

I’m grateful to Andy King for the professionalism and dedication with which he has prepared the team for recent matches in challenging circumstances,” Top added.

What he really said:

I happy with Andy he be professional and really trying and team work hard but it hard and we can’t promote.

About 4 weeks ago he said we were going for the playoffs! Utter idiot.

Ah yes - Gary Rowett - a manager renowned for front foot football.

Seriously, what is this post?

Are you so desperate to show your King Power Out credentials to the rest of the group that you have to make up any old rubbish to ‘slate’ Rudkin and Top?

Who should've we got instead? I guess you're the same kind of person who says I hope he doesn't start Ayew , Daka, Thomas and VK without saying who should play instead

If he's done his homework, he will have watched us closely since he was sacked. He'll have watched us prior to Oxford playing us, as he likes to focus on opposition teams. He'll have a very clear idea how Ayew and Thomas have been performing.

He might be unsure about Kristiansen given he hasn't played much, but he will have been watching our team closely since January, for sure.

Big ask for anyone stepping in at this stage.

We have a car crash defence and no proven goal scorer. Rowett has it all on to drag anything out of this squad but hopefully he does

Delusional cock

I mean in fairness, that interview was before the points deduction.

I guess just an in depth understanding of the Championship and our current position within it is 1 up on what we had prior to his ineptly laboured appointment.

Fingers crossed he's the right man at the right time. 🤞🍀🙏
