Certainly not got much of a track record of bringing through young players much but hopefully that's circumstantial vs preference. Would be typical of us though to bring in a sporting director who favours a certain way and a manager the other 😂

To be fair to rowett, when he was at Oxford, it wasnt long into his tenure (possibly before he arrived) that Ben Nelson had a bad injury. As soon as Nelson was fit enough to play rowett threw him straight in. Given their situation at the time, it would have been easier to stick with the more experienced cb but he was brave enough to play Ben because of his quality.

I don’t want a manager who plays youth for the sake of it, so hopefully he’s the type that simply will play his best options no matter their age.

I don't know of many, if any managers willing to do that. There are definitely some braver than others and it's a balance. The problem for us is our experienced / perceived important senior 1st team players have largely been appalling in recent years as well.

Really looking forward to this game. It's at least a year since I have been able to say that!

Early days but what a breath of fresh air he is compared to our last 2 managers!

Respect for mentally blocking Cooper out of your memory lol

Woods or Wood? The goalkeeper or the striker?

Everyone misspelling Rowett is like how everyone put Woods for Wood.

Well he is still in there somewhere🤣🤣🤣, but we gotta admit he certainly wasn’t as bad as the last 2

He was lucky to be sacked so early. It would have been just as and under him and his shit signings are a big reason we're in this mess

I personally think your wrong, yea we would of been down the bottom end, but certainly not as bad as RVN

The underlying numbers were pretty much the same, it was pretty much only Buonanotte’s purple patch making the results look respectable

I'm trying not to get carried away, but Rowett is saying all the right things

Note that Cooper, RVN and Cifuentes were all seen to 'say the right things' when they started too...

Very true. Hence why I'm trying (probably not as succesfully as i'd like) not to get carried away lol

It feels a bit more substantiated this time. Quite possibly wishful thinking, though...

Cooper is far more responsible for our relegation than Ruud, that’s not even a debate.

We broke an all time low of a record without scoring a goal at home under RVN! Of course it’s a debate, RVN was dreadful my opinion worse then cooper

Cooper vs Ruud is the difference between losing 2-1 and losing 2-0. They were both shite, just Cooper picked up the occasional consolation goal, which dried up later. At ome point last season, someone on here said "Cooper would have gotten points vs Fulham and Villa" - ignoring the fact he played them both himself. And lost them both. Beyond that, it was people doing extrapolatory fanfiction off the fact Cooper took points vs Ipswich and Southampton, which, as it turns out, so did Ruud, once it was too late. Cooper was absolute dogshit, Ruud was absolute dogshit -. Both were horrific manager choices, and Cooper had the added bonus of inciting Rudkin into one of his worst ever transfer windows in terms of spend versus quality of purchased players.

Rubbish. Cooper was a clueless shocker. That we *absolutely fluked* a few draws didn't change this

I had doubts about Cifuentes when he was so keen to quote FNQ and discovering the city, especially the interview on New Walk. Almost to win us over for when it turns to shite.
