The positive is that it is away, we seem to be doing OK away from home recently.

 

Not a must win by the true meaning but we really need all 3 points here before we go into a 2 week break. Get a positive feeling and then knuckle down for 2 weeks in training before it's the run of the last 7 matches.

 

I really don't trust this squad of players to find what it takes to stay up. It's a dog fight with plenty of others around us but we need to start showing something.

This lot overpowered us with the physicality at the KP. If we go out with our version of 4-3-3, with Ayew up top and without Winks, we get killed as we simply dont have the tools to cope with it.

Quite simply he has to go with Winks in the middle and Daka up top. Also I’d be inclined to play JJ in the No 10 role. If Vestergaard is back and fit to play he must partner Nelson at the back. Ok Nelson made a couple of mistakes on Saturday but I feel Okoli has a mistake in him every game!

Nelson cost us the match Saturday. He needs taking out the firing line for a few matches....now you have Lascelles and Vestergaard fit you have to make a change. No time for sentiment....I'd change them both if it were me....call it a rest.

If he plays Vestergaard then we have to stop playing the high line / off side trap (although this led to conceding the 1st goal). Its a really big consideration. If Jannick comes in then we have to change the formation or structure.

 

Would have thought Lascelles would have been the preferred partner? But if that was the case, we would have seen more of him?

I think the suggestion we are better away is more based around that the team seem to sh1t the bed more at home right now.

We're not better away from home in the sense that, like most teams in the league, our away points per game (1) is worse than our home points per game (1.32). We are however 18th in the away table compared to 20th in the home table, so it depends how you interpret it.

Watford are on a very inconsistent run, watched them against Sheffield Wednesday last week and they were shocking.

 

They have some excellent ball-carriers though, some of which happen to be injured atm, but that’s where they’ll probably be most dangerous imo.

 

Quietly optimistic we could get something from this game.
