Muzzy_no7 Posted 8 April Author Posted 8 April I get where people are coming from with the Wellens and Fuchs shouts but surely this job is too big for them with their respective experiences? 1

Wsl Posted 9 April Posted 9 April I keep forgetting that James McCarron was due to start work by now, so I'm guessing he will/should have a huge influence over who comes in. But I can't think much further than "what the hell possessed him to join us?" Still find it strange. But what are the odds on it being Steve Bould or Lee Johnson, given their connections to McCarron?
Craig Posted 9 April Posted 9 April If Davies leaves Birmingham it'll be him. It'll probably be him if we miraculously manage to stay up too. It's the easy appointment for the club.
Muzzy_no7 Posted 9 April Author Posted 9 April Best shout for me so far is Mark Robins providing Stoke lose their heads and get rid of him. Be great if he came with Adi Viveash, too. 2
winteriscoming Posted 9 April Posted 9 April I’m not convinced Davies or Robins will come to us especially if we’re in league 1. Look how much of a struggle it was getting Cifuentes and Rowett in. We have zero appeal to anyone. That’s why we’ve ended up with Oxford reject Rowett.

Honestly no one with any self worth is going to want to work under these clowns, unless they have very high confidence and truly back themselves against the odds, and a prepared to shout.
Guest Mickyblueeyes Posted 9 April Posted 9 April We got so lucky last time. We got a youngish manager but with a back room team which was Premier League. Getting Pearson was great but Walsh and Shakespeare who were genuinely too good for that level was something else. No idea what Pearson said to Mandaric in the interview to convince him to not go for his usual over the hill manager mustve been a masterclass. No idea who takes us on next season but hopefully they convince the rat they will play like Man City but do it their way anyway.
Lad1966 Posted 9 April Posted 9 April May be I’m dreaming this, the last time we got relegated to league 1, didn’t we looked at what Southampton did to get out of league 1 at the 1st attempt and recommended NP to the club.

Southampton didn't get relegated to League 1 until 2009 and didn't come back up at the first attempt, so probably not!!!! Edited 9 April by Langston 2

Maybe it was another club, but I’m sure that how we got linked to NP. Maybe it was because NP managed Southampton previously.
winteriscoming Posted 9 April Posted 9 April Our obsession with Southampton will continue with either Will Still or Ruben Selles. I can see it being Selles only because he’s managed before in league 1 with no budget with Reading.

It didn’t work at Sheff Utd but any manager without a Yorkshire accent is destined to fail there. Same happened to Jokanovic. Not sure really but just wouldn’t judge him on the Sheff Utd job.

Weirdly they sacked him and we got him in

Did a good job last season, albeit with the best squad that league has ever seen. This year though he’s been outdone by Phil Parkinson at Wrexham. Charlton also not far behind him despite being diabolical under Nathan Jones, stinking the championship out.
