Pearson and Shakey had several rows. I’m sure they could work together again given how successful they were.

Unfortunately it's too late for this reunion. Shakey sadly passed away in 2024.

Read the posts previous, pretty obvious I wasn’t referring to Pearson and a deceased Shakey managing us again

Reading that article, I agree, McCarron is unlikely to back Fuchs. However, those 2 names mentioned at Lommel, could well be in the frame. Bould resigned from Lommel not long after McCarron left (still with a 50% win record) and is now a Coach at QPR (though would we go back there again!?). Johnson took over in Belgium and continues with a 50% win record in their 'Championship' (though his statistics in UK football are not great, he did OK with Sunderland).

McCarron's knowledge of and longstanding links with, Bould & Johnson through the City Football Group's ownership of Lommel (and the fact that an English League 1 job is probably a step up from being Manager of a Belgian 2nd tier club, or an Assistant at QPR), is likely to mean they would be considered.

Sounds like this McCarron is going to be a knob. More tippy tappy shite

I’d want to see what Fuchs does with a full season in charge first. Keeping Newport up in his first go at management is genuinely a pretty good achievement. Think their home form has been pretty solid for a side at the bottom too.

Can’t honestly say what their style of play is as i stopped watching them after Braybrooke moved on

The few comments I've read suggests he has them up for it and playing well, but the fans think he should stop chopping and changing the side. A good man manager but very much a tinkerman.

Too many managers have indicated difficulty with this squad. RVN, Cifeuntes and Rowett to an extent. None have had the balls to drop them.

Need a manager who can stand up to Top. Happy to take the hit if the little rat boy throw his toys out the pram because his mates is not playing.

The club needs someone to get behind. Something we havent had for so long.

And that guts come before any tactical ability they may have.

Enzo was screaming into void through his leaks to Ballague and most of the fans turned around and told him to leave if he didn’t like the owner. That turned out well.

We need to find the next NP, which is easier said than done.

Interestingly, Big Nige actually has a big picture of our Championship win, on his website https://www.nigelpearson.net/

Reading the blurb about his stint at Bristol City and working under a significantly reduced squad budget etc, complying with FFP etc, actually makes him the perfect man for the job.

Bringing him back, would be one thing that our ownership could do, that would at least go 'some way' to bringing at least some sense of unity or hope back amongst the fanbase. Obviously, the ownership wouldn't think the same, and will no doubt look for the next Enzo

Yep, for a lot of years (mainly due to my dislike of our style obsession) I’ve focused on promoting mangers I think will provide fans with more exciting football in my opinion.

Our club was built on a blueprint set in place by Pearson that built us most the premier league winning team, under Ranieri we shifted away from it slightly, then Puel to a large extent put us back on track, young hungry players with a point to prove and sell on potential, Rodgers early on continued that and got the most out of the players, then abandoned it to chase expensive signings on big wages.

Ideally the club would have a structured blueprint that managers, coaches and players slot into, then when they move on, there is already a replacement lined up who fill that space.

KP and the board have shown they don’t have the competence to do this, so now we just desperately need a manager who has the capacity to rebuild us from the ground up as Pearson did. Style of play and immediate entertainment is now secondary.

Hopefully we strike gold with a manager who can do both, but right now we need a back to basics manager who is willing to stand up to the circus.

It's going to be a very difficult job.

We need a leader who is willing to put up with the issues behind the scenes (without being a yes man), is good with youth, has worked on low budgets and someone who has a good connection with the fans.

Goes without saying, but they need to actually be competent to stop the rot. Just someone to give us hope again.

With the mess we are in and being in league 1 next we’re either getting which I hope an experienced manager lower league like Challinor or someone looking at rebuilding their reputation with us.
Wouldn’t surprise me if we once again went with ex Southampton managers.
Our obsession will continue with either Will Still or Ruben Selles. Both will be looking at rebuilding their coaching career.
Selles did do well with Reading despite the financial difficulties they had in league 1.
