Rowett's reluctance to involve youth should ring alarm bells for them really

After the Blackburn game he said that involving youth was very much the way he would want to go next season. He's clearly pitching hard for the job.

We need to close Seagrave until we are back in the Prem.  15M a year running costs.

I think it's more likely that they'll just mothball large parts of it, cut the staff to the bone, close the hotel aspect of it until we're back in a position where we can afford to run it. Maybe even sell off parts of the land - we really don't need 14 full size pitches. Then probably sell Belvoir Drive instead.

I don't think whoever takes the job will have much choice in the matter. They'll have to play the kids as they'll form the bulk of the squad.

Lommel hired Steve Bould and Lee Johnson as gaffer while he was sporting director lol

You laugh but you add zero context

considering the league Lommel are in and the small size of the Club, bringing in former Arsenal Assistant Steve Bould and former Sunderland boss Lee Johnson, for Lommel SK ain’t a bad showing of ambition at that level

let’s wait and see what showing of ambition McCarron has at this level and Club size

How bad is Darren Ferguson then? 🤣

Well Peterborough fans love him, got them promoted 4 times i think, I remember his team being not shy of goals also.

He does have a reputations of working with younger Hungry players does Ferguson, but would seem a strange appointment.

They are doing what they normally do throwing a certain name out there and seeing what the response is from the fans.
They did the same thing when Ruud was going and Mr Ego Russell Martin was the apparent name in the frame.

Having previously never heard of Dick Schreuder I spent a little time digging into him, firstly, it's a pipe dream. I cannot seriously see him leaving to join us with them within touching distance of the Champions League either this season or next.
Secondly, I am not convinced it would be a good move for either of us right now. I mean, the sheer amount of work that would be required to get us playing his system in such a short time I just don't think is viable, He has wingbacks pushing centrally ahead of strikers, centre backs on the wing, pretty much none of their players have a fixed position, just imagine any of the players in our team trying to work out which position they need to move into next, there's so many positional rotations half our squad would end up in the ****ing car park. They also need ELITE levels of fitness.

My concern is that he would need more than 1 season to just nail the tactics down, and he would need to find a way to win immediately here, he would also need a mass clearout and would need to bring in 15+ players, and I just cannot see us being in a position to do this.

But IF he was mad enough to join us, I think it could be a huge amount of fun, absolute chaos on the pitch.

Really! This might have been true some years ago but given he was sacked after 13 games last October with P'boro bottom with 10 points I doubt this is true. He had been sacked twice before (or left by mutual consent).

Is he really being considered or his agent doing a great job in seeking employment for an out of work manager?

We need a complete break from Rowett (to rebuild team., club) but I would prefer Rowett to Ferguson and I don't want either). Unfortunately, I have so much faith in KP I could see either being appointed.

When you say there's little time to get our players understanding his tactics and getting to the right level of fitness, that assumes that our squad will be essentially the same.  But hopefully we will be rid of the bulk of them and will be promoting a lot of the youngsters and bringing in a few cheap additions.  So maybe it's not as hopeless a scenario as you are painting

How can a manager with an average 55-60% win ratio, working with a team he took over 10 months ago achieving champions league with one of the smallest budgets in the dutch top flight, would need time? He would absolutely HMS Piss The League immediately.

Whoever we get will be a gamble having to bring on the youngsters. Fuchs for me. Title winner with us and an intelligent guy. Would be great to have that connection with the fans again. Done a great job at Newport. Think how he would feel coming back. Would be brilliant.

Darren Ferguson away from Peterborough has been mostly shit. Is probably mates with Adrian Durham, too.

Avoid.

I’m open to being proven wrong, but look at his system, then tell me how the likes of Luke Thomas, Stolarczyk, Choudhury, BDCR etc are going to be able to cope with it? They can barely do the most basic instructions. Seems to me like at NEC he inherited a squad of players that have ended up suiting the club quite well in terms of being dynamic, almost like when Puel left, he left a group of players that had the capacity to play multiple styles, all Rodgers did was turn up and make tweaks to it.

Our squad in my opinion needs a minimum of 10+ new signings to make it work.

If he came here and immediately got us up playing his style, with barely any money spent, it would be one of the best managerial performances of my lifetime.

With 10+ new players that fit the profile required to play his system it might work, and we could pull it off. But with the current group we have, and the players likely to be left over like Thomas/Choudhury/Nelson, it is hopeless imo.

I’m 100% down for that gamble if he was mad enough to want to come here and rebuild us though.

I'd be very surprised if they sustained a push for the Champions League over a number of years

With their track record I'm giving them very little time this summer to show signs of progress. Relegated 15 days ago. Still no indication if Rowett is staying or going. I know it was the same situation with RVN a year ago and plenty met similar criticisms with "he's obviously going" and I agree, I'm about 90% sure Rowett does go - but we don't know it for sure yet.

If we don't hear something in the next week or so then strap tight. There's no excuse for it to drag on again and if they allow it to then we're making the exact same mistakes that got us relegated against huge odds a year ago. I'm expecting this to happen though. Track records matter.

Just watched an interview with Robbie Keane on Sky Sports.
Wouldn’t be surprised if we went for him.
Ticks the boxes for these clowns.
His agent is Wasserman and he’s a well known name.
