Based on what?
keeping a side up and being an ex player.
Really hope we don’t go down the ex player route because he knows the club.
Made all the difference hiring Rowett and King……

Based on having potential, a point to prove and a genuine affinity for the club. He's done a good job at Newport.

Kingy isn't a great example as he was a) a caretaker and b) didn't want to be manager.

Our managers with no history with the club have also been pretty shit tbf with the exception of Enzo.

Latest I've heard is Top wants to give King the first 5 games and see how he gets on. Kingy reluctant but won't let the club down.

Yes I mean Pearson, Ranieri, O’Neil and Little who had no previous history with us were pretty shit……

If we want to break the cycle of poor managerial appointments we may well have to pay compensation for somebody currently in a job. Hopefully we won't have to wait until 1 July to be able to afford it, but I wouldn't rule it out.

Oh I completely agree. But what the club needs to do and what our owner and board will do, are more than likely very different.

One of the first people we need to consider getting back in is Chris Powell, whether that’s as an Assistant manager to a younger up and coming manager or as Head Coach/Manager. He did get Charlton promoted to the Championship before getting the sack the following season as manager back in 2011.

I have a couple of mates who are Luton Town fans and they reckon that he is the main man down there with Jack Wilshire learning his trade from him.

What kind of player is Bardeli?  What qualities would he bring?

The first big quality is that he's FREE lol 32 games, 9 goals 6 assists. (33/10/7 in all comps)
He's sort of a box to box midfielder but he's definitely more attack minded, he has played mainly as a CM but has also slotted into CAM behind the striker a few times, so he usually picks up play in the middle and drives forward.
He's quite a tidy player, he often manages to get himself out of positions where he's surrounded by players and is comfortable in those tight  spaces.
25 years old.

His Key stats (per 90):
- 0.32 goals, which is elite for a midfielder, works out 15+ goals per season over 46 games
- 0.22xg, which shows he's consistently in goalscoring positions
- 2.77 touches in the opponents box
- 1.93 chances created per 90
- combined 0.59 xG+xA per 90, so he's got a 60% chance of scoring or assisting each game.

In League One I think he would be a cheat code. I can see him going to a championship club, but he is a wassermann client so maybe there could be something to come from that?

Obligatory video showing only the best parts of his game:

Way too soon

As midfielder who gets forward and scores goals? And keeps passing the ball forward? What’s that all about? It’ll never catch on!! 😂

Can you imagine our scouting team being one bit interested? He is just the sort of player the team and the fans need to inject a bit of excitement instead of the turgid crap which has been inflicted on us of late.

Fuchs needs another season. He's came in at Newport and fire fought - his team were 45 minutes from relegation because he made a tactical error. You need to see him when he's had opportunity to run a pre-season, sign players and then take from 1 win in 3 towards 1 win in 2. He's had very low expectations at Newport and despite him completing their objective, Newport fans are hardly saying this bloke is superb.

Give him a pre season with us then we are not much worse than Newport at this point, Newport are probably better ran than us.

The return of Rowett will signify nothing but capitulation to mediocrity. Should not be even considered as our manager. This hack had us relegated to League 1.

I’d rather Rowett than King 👀

Why would you want to risk doing that? We did it with King and looked unfit throughout the season

Many clubs would have a manager announced by now.

How hard can it be to tap up a manager a month before the end of the season and have them on standby pending results. Especially if we go for one that is out of work.

We do this every single time we have to change manager.

Tbf how many relegated clubs appoint a new manager after >95% of the season has been done?

It depends who they've identified as a target, some may still be a job i.e. playoffs or European leagues etc...

We don't need a fast appointment, we need the right appointment.

Hopefully by mid June imo.

Agree patience is needed. I guess its just worry on my part that they'll do what they always do and leave it so late.

They've got form for sure, I wouldn't put it past them to sit on it.

Prob waiting for contracts to finalise before making a decision. Also treading on egg shells especially after all the PSR stuff that’s happened before. I’d expect a decision late June

I don’t know just think he would get us playing as a team again, any manager would be a risk with the pond we are fishing in imo.

Don’t think Rowett would work here now, fans are already on his back and rightly so. Barely gave youth a chance, spouted some crap and then we see him saying how much he wants the job and giving tactical advice on Sky Sports for the play offs, laughable.
