Downright pathetic our club have taken over a month to plan for next season since relegation was confirmed.

I don't know why I expected any different.

I don’t underestimate their ability to tweet 3 to 4 times a day about the 5000/1 game, over the next few weeks to drag it out to 2 months.

Plenty today lol

They'll milk it for absolutely no return other than thinking they know what the fans want.

If we wait all bloody summer, to then appoint someone in July, I’ll just disconnect from football all season I think.

Our preparation levels will be terrible as per.

Wasn’t aware of how he played.

Dave Challinor’s style of play is characterized by a dynamic blend of high-intensity pressing, tactical flexibility, and an expansive, possession-based approach in the final third. A former centre-back himself, his teams are built on solid defensive foundations, aggressive closing down, and disciplined, hard-working midfields. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]

Key Tactical Pillars
  • High Aggression & Pressing: Challinor demands that his teams hunt for the ball. His players—especially midfielders and wing-backs—aggressively jump off their lines every few seconds to prevent opponents from building from the back. [1, 2]
  • Expansive Wing-Backs: Whether deploying a back three or a back four, he utilizes overlapping and high-pressing wing-backs. This allows his sides to crowd the pitch, stretch the opposition defense, and dominate the wide areas. [1, 2]
  • Tactical Adaptability: He is not dogmatic about formations and prefers to pick shapes that maximize his squad's strengths. While he has favored 3-5-2, 3-4-2-1, and 4-3-3 structures, the underlying attacking and pressing principles remain the same. [1, 2, 3, 4]
  • No-Nonsense Accountability: Beyond the tactics, his management style is demanding. He holds players strictly accountable, emphasizing hard work, high standards, and squeezing every ounce of potential out of his squads

He’s won me over!

Ah yes hiring the ex Stockport manager as we plan for life in the third tier, all is forgiven!!

I thought something similar but you articulated it perfectly!

I still come on here but an emotionally disconnected from a team I have followed for forty years.

I will cheer more than when we won the league, when the Nepobaby goes - and he will one day.

Completely agree.

You're not far from me. I used to live near the centre of Stockport, before they redeveloped that new estate.

I know people that work with the club and what a transformation. It's a shame they've not quite cracked it for Championship but of the Manchester satellite towns, they're best placed to become an alternative to the City/ United. They might even get actual locals supporting them over City!

Yes, since the new ownership came in at Stockport they have been very well run with a clear plan. Challinor and his backroom staff have played a huge part in that and the hierarchy actively speaks to the fan base to outline the plans for the club. It's so refreshing to see and makes me envious that we just don't get that at Leicester. I see their CEO (Simon Wilson) is also leaving so there will be big changes afoot for them.

Challinor for me is exactly what we need right now. If we can get him in I would predict him having a similar effect to when Big Nige first arrived.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Challinor is such an open goal that even Daka would do well to miss.

I still feel that we would be a better and more exciting project for a manager like Challinor than  than a Blackburn/Watford etc.

Worth mentioning that other clubs really dislike working with Rudkin. Our name in circles is poor hence the reliance on agents

Those clubs, like the moaning supporters and critical journalists, are clearly all wrong.

My gosh. Challinor is such an obvious choice, that it is too easy a decision.

Management can't look past a Southampton link, and Martin being favourite, is mind boggling.

Somone please Morse Code, management 'Challinor for the job'. Before, they mess this up also.

I'm not understanding this fascination with Challinor...

Have you seen the win rate

The promotions and achievements

Yes, he is lower league guy.

But that is where we are.

They should be all over this guy.

Yep, it's so obvious. He's someone who plays aggressive, attacking football, makes players work for the badge, has done a great job on a budget, and he's someone that could genuinely rally the club back together.

Announce Russell Martin.

Hardly set the world alight at Rangers.

“Rohl had won just eight out of his last 18 fixtures in all competitions when it all wound up with a victory at Falkirk. Against teams in the top six of the Premiership, he won seven out of 17. It’s atrocious for a squad that had £10million spent on it in the January window and still couldn’t keep weans out of a close.

O’Neill, an old man who had been six years out of football, schooled Rohl last term. He highlighted so many of his deficiencies .

Cornelius coming out of the woodwork to vent over his treatment just adds to the suspicion that the one-time Sheffield Wednesday manager simply isn’t cut out for the particular challenges of life as an Old Firm boss”

Yeah they definitely had a rough patch near the end, he took them from 17 points off top when he arrived to a single point from the top when that form hit though, so he had a sustained upturn in form, not really sure what happened towards the end.

Yeah, Challinor I could back. Would be a good appointment imo. Get it done Rudders, the fans have spoken

Problem is they have no interaction with the fans so how will they know 🤷🏻‍♂️

They don’t give a f**k about us so why should we them? It’s a broken relationship now. We are just accepting to live with them because we have no other choice, unfortunately.

Just cling on to administration that’s all we can hope for

Hopefully this catastrophe will soon be over
