I've just checked on the website. There are so many available...everywhere! My usual block, there are a handful seats taken. Surely it's not worth it. They'll definitely make a loss on it.

I'm clearly missing something - but why on earth are they taking off blocks of seats from general sale? The only thing I can think of, and I wondered whether it would come to this when the Athena evening was cancelled, was that they intend to paper it. I know sometimes blocks are released bit by bit to build up sales, but it looks like these were available to begin with. So they're either trying a block by block, or they're going to give away huge numbers of seats, bit like the ECB did with the first year of the Hundred, to drum up attendance.

I guess they're taking blocks that haven't been touched off sale so people aren't so spread out. It doesn't look as empty if everyone who is stupid enough to buy them, buys them closer together. The fact they opened up the whole ground to start with is hilarious, but I must say I didn't expect it to sell THIS badly.

If I have time later I may do a tally up for a laugh.

Keeping the kop open for what i would guess is less than 500 people is crazy. You could fit everyone who has a ticket in thre into the available tickets in the west stand easily

Same. It’s like it happened to a different club. I’m so totally detached from it all now.

I cherish the memories but like you said, it’s another club now

Why is everyone wetting themselves in anticipation of a poor turn out for many of the players who brought us such ecstatic times. Happy for them to be embarrassed and humiliated on that one afternoon ?

How have you come to that conclusion?

Show me some quotes of posts made by those that have insinuated that, and than give them the opportunity to put the record straight....

What's actually happening is people are quoting the number of seat sales to highlight that the wider LCFC fanbase, and not just some posters here on Foxestalk aren't really bothered about the idea of the match or they also possibly think the timing is ill thought out, or even an unknown other personal reason.

But with only a few over 3000 sales regardless, paints it's own picture that it's not really wanted by fans, for whatever reason that they chose to stay away, even if it's glammed up as a charity event.

For comparison, The Atalanta pre season game got 13200 or so, that was for a game that fans wanted to attend, that fans actually had an interest in.

For the players whoever they may be, that do eventually take to the field representing the 2016 team, any embarrassment they feel won't be down to the fans or those objecting to the match here on the form, no, the onus will be on the club for putting on an event that poor sales proves the fans don't want or think is a poor ill thought out idea.

Makes you wonder doesn't it.........

Them not announcing any of the squads with it being just a few weeks away tells you everything

The 4 "biggest" players most likely wont be playing in it - and probably some of the others as well

Kasper - wont be playing, injured

Schwarzer

Simpson

De Laet

Amartey

Benalouane

Morgan

Huth

Wasilewski

Fuchs

Mahrez - wont be playing, world cup

Kante - wont be playing, world cup

Drinkwater

King

Inler

Albrighton

Schlupp

Gray

Dyer

Vardy - highly doubt he will be playing

Okazaki

Ulloa

The timing is terrible it’s stinks of trying to save face after the embarrassment of relegation and the point deduction sending us down, should be cancelled for a few years

I bet the players also dont want to be a part of it. They will all be fully aware how toxic the club is right now, why would they want to be a part of it?

Gabby Agbonlahor said he’d been asked to play in it because he played against us that season, but wasn’t sure he was going to. Says a lot when gobby Gabby wants no truck with us 😂

If he's says yes I might go. Who could resist?

I don't see what is in it for the opposition team. Would have made far more sense to cobble together some sort of Leicester icons team from the past 35 years or so.

A 5,000 to 1 loss

Tickets should have been a tenner. Kids £1. I guess if they hadn't done anything, everyone would have complained at that. But without Schmeichel, Kante, Mahrez and Vardy playing, it's not really the same. It's a shame for the players involved if sales stay like this though.

Yes, exactly. Nothing this club does makes any sense.

This is going to be an absolute car crash isn’t it?

The thing is half of it is brought on themselves.

Word goes around Feb/March that the club have organised nothing for the players in a celebration.

Club think hold up we’ve got to do something here. By the time, it’s finally confirmed it’s in the midst of a relegation battle and most just want time off from the club.

If they’d announced March, they’d have at least 15k sales in my opinion.

It’s just incredibly poor organisation and marketing. I’m feeling sorry for the players who’ve been part of the organisation and someone like Ranieri coming over.

They could have just fielded one of these legend sides from the elite clubs what do the rounds.

I think judging on how low sales are there wouldn't be that many people who'd be complaining.

If they'd announced it near Christmas or something I'd understand it more and maybe people would go into it with a different attitude, but for me, the way they put it out there the day before our inevitable relegation just made it feel like some form of emotional manipulation.

I can put aside my differences with the club to see my heroes, but the fact they have not announced the line up eleven days before KO is a new low for the club 😂
