Anyone heard any rumblings on fixtures for preseason 2026? Would be nice for us to get back to a normal UK-based preseason playing the likes of Port Vale, Grimsby etc away - though we do need all the overseas tour revenue we can possibly get!

I thought that from a google search but its the exact same details as when we played them two years ago, same stadium, same date. Our season starts 7th-9th August with the League Cup First Round being played on the weekend now

Its a day later 2 years on from what I can see? Does seem strange though.

Im sure some local pub teams around Leicester would fancy a game. Get us used to the standard of teams we'll be playing in the league next season.

This is going to be such an awful season

If we go manage to sell all the players we've got, I have zero faith in our recruitment to bring in players to get us back up

I tend to agree.

I fear that we wont be able to turn this around in one year as the rebuild will be too big.

I wonder if we will be a bit like Sunderland were, where we are always in and around the promotion/play off places for a few years before getting it right.

The pre season will be tough for any new manager as he will basically have players leaving right up until the transfer window closes - not fully knowing who he has to work with. For that reason, and the likely player churn, it may be difficult to start the season ‘Ready to hit the ground running’

Real Murcia away please

This would be great for me 40 mins away. Our local team Bala Azul in tercera grupo 13 had preseason friendliest last year against Real Madrid U21 and Elche CF U21

The planning for next season begins…. after 3 games at the end of August. Out of the League Cup by then. Relying on Andy King to take first team charge with the usual back room failures from the past. The board diligently draws up a list of potential long term candidates with Messrs. Martin and Potter featuring high on the  candidate list to lead this club forward playing the style of football suitable to the chairman in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Wouldn’t be surprised if true.
