Reddit is normally the litmus test of whether anyone outside of KPFC drones care about it.

 

Nothing. Nobody gives a shit. Haven't seen a single highlight beyond trying and failing to shitpost on the stream (which I couldn't get connected as I was out and still managed to get banned from the chat. )

 

Now this farce is over there's nowhere to hide. I've already lost count of how many weeks it's been as I mentally checked out in mid-March, but guessing it's been 3 or 4 with zero activity besides confirming the departure of some of the wastemen responsible for taking us to our lowest point ever in 142 years of existence. We're a shambles.

I haven’t agreed with the event but I’ve felt the digging at people going has been really uncalled for. Can’t blame people for using a spare Saturday afternoon watching people who brought them a lot of joy. If you haven’t smiled at least one of the social media videos of them together, you are lying

To be honest, I thought it was a great day. Mostly families went. It was great to see them together, and how fondly they remember and think of the club (the ex players- particularly pleasing to see kasper and vards make the effort even though they couldn't play and Claudio 😊). I went because my daughter was too young to remember the team and she wanted to see them and feel part of something. I just wanted to say thank you to some of our greats. It was just a welcome break from everything else going in at the minute with the club.

Wasn't expecting a great deal considering all the negative vibes beforehand but it actually turned out to be a decent afternoon for those that attended. Atmosphere was surprisingly jovial. Shame about the overall attendance as the Senior Players probably deserved a bit more respect given what the occasion actually stood for.

I'm glad those who went did have a nice time. It's not something I, like many I feel, felt they could support given everything happening at the club at the moment. But that doesn't mean others can't go there for a nice day out.

 

I agree it's a shame about the overall attendance, but it was abundantly obvious that would happen. There is little to no hope around the club or in the fan base at the moment after the last two years, so I think a lot of people (myself included) are relieved we're not playing for a couple of months. Everyone is so tired of the shit we've been served up, and this just wasn't a big enough draw given the circumstances.

 

Those returning players deserved a higher attendance, and I think the club missed a massive open goal by failing to show any real acknowledgement of failings or promise to do better. Even something like that, or indication they're trying to do something would have rallied folks a little bit more. They didn't even try—they just banked on the anniversary as a marketing ploy. Very sad.

 

But anyway, as I said, I'm glad some of those who went (players included) had a good time.

That would require anyone at the club having a brain cell to share between them. Every decision they make seems to be endless own goal after own goal.

A better idea. Or maybe they could have even decided to announce this game several months before they actually did. I know that's a bit out there as they only had 10 years to think about it.

 

In all seriousness, when you've got certain publicly players saying that the club hasn't told them if they have if anything planned, that's embarrassing. They left it way too late anyway, let alone considering the doom and gloom around the place by the time they announced the game. Even for this club, that's embarrassingly bad.

 

And then the actual lineup is without the 3 genuine world class players in that team, and the next closest player to that grouping, even if slightly out of their control in Kasper's case with his injury. But as you say, had they changed the timing of it, you might have been able to get Kante and Mahrez. Ended up with guys who were not part of that title win/not even very liked by fans (St Ledger for example)

 

Then the final major flaw, was the team they were up against. Not expecting the best players of all time but crazy that they didn't at least get some stars in there. A bit harsh, but it was a bunch of the most no name/uninspiring players imaginable. The fact an exhibition game ended 0-0, shows you how embarrassing it all was.

But you want to see lots of goals and playing enjoying themselves. 0-0 tells you they took it way too seriously and had no quality to go with it.

 

Somebody said it was bringing back the memories so I flicked it on for a few mins. Quality was absolutely abject (and we've got a good reference point for that!)
