I want to be early in this thread. Unless he manages back to back promotions and a top 10 Prem finish in his 3 years here he’s not the man.

3 year contract as well. Topkin have learnt nothing have they? He'll be on a decent wage as well and we'll fall back into the same trap of not being able to invest in the squad because we've spent millions sacking yet another useless manager. Getting 1 managerial appointment wrong can be unfortunate. Two in a row is incompetent. 3 in a row is ridiculous. 4 in a row is sabotage!

Will be fascinating to see where they turn to when he's sacked. He's really the perfect manager for the Nepo baby, a real mini me (if that's possible).

When they have to sack him and move on from him I think that will be the point Rudkin calls it a day (after trying to leave twice and King Power begging him to stick around).

They've still got Liam Manning to appoint then they'll probably have run out of Temu Pep Ball advocates.

It’s almost like there’s someone above Martin, as there has been for every manager since Maresca, saying “don’t worry I’ll sort the football, you just make the excuses.”

Same problems again and again with this terrible style.

Paulo Sousa - the first manager of the King Power era - lasted just eleven games in charge before getting the push.

On the evidence of his first two games, Martin must be in some danger of beating that record.

My concern is that because are up for sale they will just **** this off and let him do what he wants until we’re sold. This season could get very ugly very quickly.

Dont think they can afford to do that. Nobody is buying us if we are mid-bottom of league 1.

I'm a bit conflicted by this.  Is he good enough? Probably not, but I doubt we can get anyone who is for the squad we currently have.

The one lesson I'm taking away from yesterday's match, over and before any other, is that there was a damn good reason for why last years squad got us relegated to League One, and until we replace those who still aren't good enough, we're going to struggle.  Bistric will hopfully help, but our defence is still pretty woeful, (JJ being the ONLY exception I see from yesterday's match) and that (especially thanks to Nelson's injury) is why we're going to struggle regardless of who manages us this season, IMHO.  You could have the best tactics, but our players aren't good enough to keep the opposition out anyway, and don't help whoever's in goal behind them, though finding a keeper who isn't a bombscare with the ball would be a good idea, thanks :P
