winteriscoming Posted 5 September Posted 5 September Would take him over half the season to get what he wants from the players by which point we’d be closer to relegation than promotion. We would be so far adrift that we’d finish mid table hopefully under him but have the highest possession stats in the league which it seems all he’s bothered about. The sooner he goes the sooner hopefully we can salvage this season. Completely the wrong appointment but I seriously doubt we’ll get the next one right.
sm1 Posted 5 September Posted 5 September Gets humbled by a rookie manager, even though he has one of the most expensive and biggest squads in the league. Worst still, he comes out and blames the young players.
MC Prussian Posted 5 September Posted 5 September On very thin ice now. Lose against Stockport, and he must go. 2

ozvaldo Posted 5 September Posted 5 September He needs to be winning every game for the next 5 games. Otherwise, he needs taking out back and putting out of his misery. 1

I don't get what's so special about the way he plays or the "system" that it'd take half a season just to get people to be able to play it. What the fxxk was preseason for? 4

The similarities between us and Rangers are huge. That our brain trust of three couldn’t spot it. McCarron ain’t blameless in this either; clear connection between Martin, Wilcox and McCarron
winteriscoming Posted 5 September Posted 5 September These prats could sack him tomorrow and then spend the next few weeks looking to hire a replacement get nowhere and then give it Hourihane until the end of the season. Completely clueless. 2
ACF Posted 5 September Posted 5 September One of the many things I don’t understand about this bloke, we heard and saw during preseason that he wanted to be defending high up the pitch, putting the press on. I don’t think I’ve seen us press well all season, we’ve been cut through or had balls hit over the top consistently. We just haven’t won the ball back in threatening places to create chances. That Oxford third goal was awful defending, but credit to Ramsay for getting the keeper to get into an area they can win a second ball and move forward. It then looks like they’ve never thought the ball could get through and they’d be running back towards their own goal. From watching I could not tell you how he wants us to defend. If he wants to continue playing with so much possession, forcing overloads, you have to expect that when we lose the ball, we’ll have players out of position meaning they can counter quickly. The pressing aspect of the preseason seems absolutely pointless.
robski Posted 5 September Posted 5 September This club is a complete nonsense run by incompetent morons who have zero accountability or football accumen. - The R M appointment was hated by most of the fans and the results and chaos so far support this and it’s going to get a lot worse. - RM has achieved very little and is not really a football manager with any pedigree or reputation. - I don’t even bother going to matches so all credit to those fans that do and I can only sympathise with your torment and pain to watch this garbage but I do follow the results week in and it still hurts me. - RM must be sacked asap and not be allowed to drag this on much longer and if need be fans should just not turn up and vote with their feet. Othewise this will just take ages to get him removed and there will be no decisive action 🤔
Parker Pen Posted 5 September Posted 5 September The worst thing about Martins appointment is that we as fans could all see how this car crash would play out yet Rudkin and Top still went for it. Stinks of sabotage! 1
ts_1010 Posted 5 September Posted 5 September £5 says we find out he only gets pity sex. He's burning our club to the ground then going home to Pinder "Lucy we lost again, I feel sad".
Jakemoore Posted 5 September Posted 5 September Only thing that does worry me is that he did actually get Southampton promoted…I mean, they were horrific at times but they also went 20 odd games unbeaten. You just know Top and his band of muppets will cling to that until at least Christmas.

I think they were both pretty shocking today, especially Page. Maybe so, but to be then undermined by the very man you'd hope would offer you some crumb of comfort and give your failing confidence some sort of a boost and be more supportive. His self effacing comments in the post match interview must be awful to hear. I despise him even more after hearing that interview. And I despise our senior management and our useless owner even more for not listening to us, the supporters, who never wanted this hopeless fraud in the first place. Fans know about football and are much more knowledgeable than most owners and board members, but we get ignored time and again. Edited 5 September by Parafox 1
MC Prussian Posted 5 September Posted 5 September (edited) Yes, Russell Martin has won three (3) league matches since May 2024. Edited 5 September by MC Prussian

Did they not look at his CV and see "sacked by Southampton, sacked by Glasgow Rangers"? He's a failure at many levels, even as a player. Goodness knows what they thought he had to offer us.
Corky Posted 5 September Posted 5 September The first half was actually more of what I expected. A goal down yet no attempt to force the issue or raise the tempo. 1
Dan Posted 5 September Posted 5 September Astounds me people fell for the bloke. Believe people when they show you what they are. 1

As are many varieties of crisps, but I don’t know if his body shape is the issue here. It’s the fact he appears to be another VERY crap manager so far, which almost everyone thought he would be and it’s destroying the football club.
TeamRocket Posted 6 September Posted 6 September Honestly think if anyone who plays fc/fifa/Fm games Applied for the lcfc job would (a.) Get it and (b.) Win more games then this dung!
