Given our situation I’m not sure who else we could have got. He’s managed at a higher level with some success, but the jury is definitely out and we will need a stonking start to bring a lot of doubters on side

I’m glad they’ve been decisive and sorted it relatively early. The abysmal dithering left us miles behind before we’d started in the last two seasons. We’ve also now got an obvious identity of playing style, which we’ve not had since Enzo left.
 

We should have enough time to give him a few players that’ll suit his stubborn tactics, if we’re fitter than the last two seasons that’ll represent progress for this mob.
