It will be VERY interesting to see who will be travelling to Spain soon. Martin has used 27 players in the 3 Friendly games so far, I can't believe all 27 (plus Chaplin, McCarthy, Souttar etc) will be going - 20 max?

 

Does anybody know when they're shipping out? Monday, I guess.

Unless some are in the pipeline to be sold or loaned out, why wouldn't you take all 27?

We are allowed 22 overage players this season. If we are going with youth we could have a 30 man squad for the season so unless it looks like a player will leave you would take them all.

According to social media he was in Ghana earlier on today attending an event, 

 

Don’t expect to see him back and I’d expect him to be one of the ones that’s sold before we fly out to Spain

Yeah Monday, flying into Jerez.

We aren’t chartering, they’re flying Jet2.

You would think as the games go on, we'll be getting closer to see the players he favours.

 

Unfortunately,  whichever way you look at it, thats likely to include the likes of Choudhury and co.

Using 27 players at this stage is understandable given that Russell has never seen many of them play before.

 

It also keeps moral and hopes high while he works out his best options going forward.

 

Especially for the young Academy players looking for that break into the senior game.

 

I suspect he'll settle on 16 to 17 players to make up the squad for the start of the season. Which should be plenty.

 

I expect more outgoings and a few incoming before the season starts to allow them the time to bed them into the Team.

I would imagine it will be the full squad with the only exclusions being players who are on the verge of leaving or have indicated they want to be left out to pursue a move elsewhere. 
 

I think the next thing we hear about Abdul will be the announcement he has left to sign for club X or Y. I wouldn’t be surprised if Souttar doesn’t travel and his move isn’t too far away either. 
 

other than that I think all other players will travel as the club will be looking to maintain as strong a negotiating position as possible.
 

Will be more interesting to see if we announce any additional new signings in time for them to join the trip.

Looks like heat is building in the week to perhaps 40oc and we're playing at 6pm which will be baking still. 

 

Interesting to see if we can keep a good tempo going.

Money  might be a good reason but who knows where we stand now.

The tour squads are usually quite big

 

It would be the whole first team and then also some youth players get taken along as well

 

Expect it to be at least around 30
