I think one problem we've got (and it stems from Aiyawatt) is the sense of "everythign will be fine", "we're above all this" and "we're a Premier League outfit in all but name".

Mukasa is definetley ahead of Page at this time. He was probably the best player on the pitch for first 4/5 games he was here until Leicester sucked the life out of him

I thought the last 2 or 3 games when Page came on, he looked the best midfielder on the pitch and I had seem him at Charlton in Sept, when he looked out of his depth.

Personally he looked much better than Monga to me, but maybe Monga just downed tools 2nd half of last season, as I've read a few press articles really bigging him up.

If we had not gone down, I think both would be here along with Jordan James, who looks off to Wolves, what an absolute waste.

Leicester City have rejected a bid for midfielder Louis Page, Russell Martin has confirmed.

Page's future at the King Power Stadium has been a hot topic in the last week following reports that Manchester United were working on a deal to sign the 18-year-old.

The midfielder is also understood to be of interest to Arsenal and Aston Villa, but United have been named as the frontrunner. However, no deal has yet been agreed despite reports that it was close.

On Friday, City boss Martin was quizzed about the latest transfer speculation surrounding his players, with Harry Souttar continuing to be linked with Sheffield United and Wrexham. “We’re really relaxed about it. We don’t have to sell anyone," he said.

 

"I think if we choose to, it’ll be because it’s right for everyone. I’ve said this so many times. It’ll be right for the player, it’s something they want to do, it’s right for us because we have enough money that makes it work for us and it means we can place them and we’re ready to replace them.

"So the stance will be the same on any player, whether it’s Louis or Harry, anyone. There’s no club in world football that isn’t a selling club, unless you’re one of the really big guns at the top of the Premier League.

"Everyone has a price, but clubs are nowhere near the prices for our players at the minute, and there’s more than them [Page and Souttar] that we’ve turned down from, there’s been more offers for other players, but the club’s not in a rush and doesn’t need to do it. We’ll only do it when it’s really right for us."

Asked specifically about Page, the City boss said: “That’s been well-documented, yeah. We turned down an offer for Louis, there’s been a lot of chat all summer about him from various clubs.

"We had one offer from a club and that was turned down."

The facet he opens up to the media on transfers is dead positive. This is the refreshing side of RM. He’s very transparent compared to previous incumbents. I like that quality about him.

Also, his first goal was a deflection (i think , it memory recalls). Personally feel he rode a little bit of a confidence wave at the start. Once teams work you out though, its hard to overcome. No way was Mukasa ever head and shoulders above Page.

First half against Soton he was driving forwards, passing into space so players had to run.  After that he stopped.  It felt like Mav, Ayew etc told him we don’t do that here mate.

I have no strong feelings about Martin really and I like the fact he's playing the likes of Alves.  However, in his post match interview he said it's a really young side lets see if we can get some experience in to help them. 

 

What on God's green earth is this obsession in all our managers with experience? Could he not see our best players today were the young academy lads.  Experience got us Ayew, Vestergaard etc. etc.  Just fvck off and reset the thing properly.
