I don't actually agree with this to be honest.

I see the Golding transfer far more of a damming indictment on PSR than LCFC.

I've put the boot in plenty on Top, Rudkin and our ownership over the last couple of years. I'm not exactly KPFC. But Golding is one stick I find it odd that people keep trying to beat the club with.

We didn't sign Golding because we believed in him, Golding was just an accounting trick to enable Chelsea to give us more for KDH.

It's extremely shitty that a kid's career got used like that but the fault ultimately rests on whatever edit designed PSR.

Obviously the fact we desperately needed to sell our best player moments after getting promoted to the Premier League is a horrific look for the club but making Golding part of the deal was just sensible in context.

Yeah I’m more leaning to slagging off PSR with this so maybe I should’ve worded it different.

I was well aware this was a fiddle and called it out on here almost immediately (as did most)

But it still wouldn’t surprise me if Rudkin and Co fell for MG when Chelsea absolutely knew they were offloading a complete dud.

The fee was a PSR fiddle for Chelsea.

Putting that to one side Golding has played for England at most age brackets.

There is a chance he could still develop into a decent player.

At 20? Not playing competitive games at any club level.  Hes the danny ward of midfielders. But danny made the bench occasionally.....bar the drastic season he was our No.1.

I really do hope something comes of his career. But he as never been a factor for our squad or back up player, and to not even be sent out on loan says alot

I think the fact we immediately put him in our development squad and pretended he didn't exist tells you we were really under no illusion about what was happening.

I imagine Rudkin (who, again, I'm not defending in the broadest sense) probably had no idea who Golding was.

It will have gone something like:

"Give us X for KDH"

"We can't find room in our budget for X unless you take one of our academy players for Y."

"OK, who have you got?"

"What do you need?"

<five minutes later after a two minute chat with the academy director>

"Err, a midfielder?"

"Right. Hold on.... Michael! Michael! Yes, you. Go pack your bags.... alright, Jon, sorted."

You know we’re desperate when we open a thread for Michael Golding to go to Shrewsbury on loan.

Any good news is good news. Even loan news. At least things are moving in the background.

Drain the swamp.

Although it was an obvious PSR fiddle he was quite highly rated when we signed him

Was moving up through the Chelsea youth teams and England youth squads, and Chelsea fans were annoyed at the time

Only turned 20 in May so a good loan for him in League Two like Braybrooke might get him back on track

Anyone able to clarify if he's even a footballer or just a random Chelsea staff member drawn into the fraudulent PSR fiddle?

Imagine their faces, when their director of football picks up the phone to McCarron on Tuesday morning and says 'Where's your boy Golding? He was supposed to be here by 9am', and the response is, 'Not sure why you're calling, he's been sat in the canteen since 8.30am'... :D

Well, his name is an anagram of ACM glide holing, so there's your answer....

Although whilst we haven’t sold Golding yet we could potentially sell for more than €5m in the future who knows how things will pan out, 5m means we sold KDH for 35m€ anything more let’s say it’s €10m then would people say we sold KDH for €40m and say good job?

How much do we want for KDH?

We sold for higher than MV minus Goldings fee so MV, interestingly his MV dropped lower after his disappointing Chelsea stint but back to what we sold him at.

I get MV is a baseline and of course he would go now for more than that but that would also be attributed to other factors.

Why is KDH always brought up to hit this lad?

I’m not digging Golding. I agree he is only 20 and I think this is the best move. Let’s be fair, unlike with actual home grown players that are pure profit, we aren’t going to get a financial benefit from selling Golding. Either we keep him in the youth team until he walks for free or loan him out and hope he finds himself and either we do sell for a worthwhile amount or he becomes useful for us.

Re KDH, we sold him for about €35 mill, which is about £30 mill, minus Goldings fee was about £25 mill we have ended up with. He’s now had a great season for Everton and shown himself as a top half PL player.

I understand what you are saying about how things could have turned out, but we can only really go on what has happened. I’m not sure there is any real surprise about how KDH has gone on to do. Similarly, is there much surprise than Golding has ended up as he has? Unless you disagree and are shocked at how well KDH has gone and similarly how Golding has made no impact, that would suggest the odds of whether the overall deal between those two transfers wasn’t a very good deal for us surely?

Totally agree, I feel for him in fact.

His career has potentially been hindered just to fulfil Chelsea's ongoing fraudulent transfer activity.

Hes just been used as a pawn.

Hope he gets a move, and makes a career.

Remarkable that if we had the pick of a few Chelsea academy players that summer we ended up with a player that was proved useless; we could have had Charlie Webster or Mason Burstow!

KHD didn't pay man's football until he was 21, making his debut in the FA Cup for before having the 2nd half of the season on loan at Blackpool.

We are so used to massive rip offs any perceived failure is seen instantly as a useless player. He is 20, give him a chance, if he has a crap loan I will hear it a lot more. If he does well in L2 then he gets a L1 loan/into our team second half of the year/next season, that goes decently he’s probably already worth around what we paid. We have had a lot of awful business but for now I wouldn’t class this as one, albeit the timing was absolutely awful.

Imagine if this lad was the bad egg all round and now he's gone we'll start to see Leicester heal

Wasn't there some leak stating he was absolute poison or have I dreamt that up?

He needs this season long loan, if he looks good then we persist and hopefully there's a player there. If not cut him loose. Hopefully it goes well for him at Shrewsbury.

Despite the obvious PSR fiddle you're right he was rated. And all the more annoying that Chelsea produce so many good academy graduates yet we don't seem to have picked out one for the deal!

KDH had a liitle hype around him, i also seen bits of him playing. I Honestly have no idea what this guy looks like, theres no buzz following him. I mean its kind of known it was a financial thing.  But is he actually 4-5million good?

Not really until after his Luton loan 18 months later.

Fee isn’t the players fault.
