By all accounts Doyle can play as a 10 or an 8.

Cullen isn't hideous at 8 and in fairness we've started with 3 outright CMs all capable of playing at 6 and the closest we have to a 10 is on the right wing. Alves can play there too. 

 

So the balance across the full match day squad isn't as bad as it looks.

Is Doyle injured. I’d have liked to have at least seen him on the bench for this one. I guess that’s a sign that we have a bit of strength in depth now compared to pre season.

You seen how the subs played today?There's  no strength  in depth, all different  levels of shite .

We have more than we did in pre season. They were poor today but then again I thought the starting eleven did well and I found the substitutions strange in terms of timing and personnel. They are not shite. There are some positive signs but we need to bring them on.

Probably the most disappointing performance from tonight.

 

After 3 successful loans and him supposedly being the best creator in league one last season i assumed he would look a level above, particularly against an u21 side.

 

He just looked lost and slow to everything. Hopefully he can find some form. It does highlight how special Braybrooke and Page are though because they are miles ahead of Doyle currently.

Didnt think he was bad at all? Skins a player for fun and two footed. Only one who looked shite was Coulibally who got rinsed by their RM

Doyle looked unfit and lacked match sharpness. He doesn't strike me as a creative player. It just felt like I was watching Michael Golding again... He might be okay and just really rusty, but last night was pretty poor from him against an u21 side.

I don’t think he’s fit - seems strange to come to any sort of conclusion already when he has an excellent L1 track record

Think the mistake he made at times was rather doing a Jordan Ayew and do nothing and fade into the background, he actually tried to close down, running on empty.

 

That really magnified his lack of fitness IMO.

Looks technically good but also looked like he was running through quicksand at times.

I thought he did ok. Good on the ball, good movement off the ball. Definitely not match fit but that’s because he hasn’t had many matches.
