His Brighton contract is up at the end of the season. Sign him up.

Does anyone no why they loaned him if its his final season? There must be a clause for extra year or something so they can recoup something surely

Don't think there's a point trying to pidgeonhole his level when he's just starting to get into form for us.

If Ayew and Cordova Reid played regularly in the PL (BDCR also managed 19 goals in a championship season at some point) then Doyle and the other young lads could make it there.

I'm just being realistic. You'll note that I said he'll be technically superior to most of his teammates. It's not just straight line speed, it's general sharpness that is probably not going to get much better. It's the biggest reason players don't go to a higher level. You get plenty of players that are amazing at a certain level but unfortunately they don't have that speed to make it to the next level.

Ask yourself why he's spending a 3rd season, and 4th loan spell in a row on loan at this level when they've generally been very successful? And I've not written him off once and when everyone was slagging him off, I was defending him

This is usually the case let alone with a club wise as Brighton. Be amazed if he’s actually out of contract come June.

Only possible reason would be our loan fee was significant enough that it was better than getting nothing for a player they had already decided they weren’t keeping

He was obviously just not match fit and quite a few on here were getting on his back very early. His L1 record suggests he already above this level - if we can sign him we absolutely should

Thanks for again giving me a correct assesment of him to base my own on given my complete lack of prior knowledge about him :claudio:

It could be a number of reasons. Brighton still may offer him a contract pending his season here, which would be why they wouldn’t sell. Could be down to a loan fee. Who knows.

He's a very big plus over Cullen and Chaplin. He's clearly talented prepared to work hard during a game and  has a Strikers eye for Goal.

He can play the 8 or 10 role, As his confidence grows he'll be a regular in the team.

How can anyone judge Chaplin after he's played 10 minutes for us.

As a player no - you can’t judge yet but as a signing we can, precisely because he’s played so few minutes

You can judge players pretty quickly as to what they can bring to the team.. For a start he's slow as is Cullen. Neither were creative  or combative in Saturdays game. The momentem shifted back to Donny after the Subs.

They,er also older pros, probably here for the money I'd say as opposed to the younger players and you could see it meant something to Lundstrum and Suttar and Reis.

We'll probably need them with so many games but I'll be worried if they are in the team.

Exactly this!!

We brought in 16 players yet you could argue that none added the physicality/pace that were clearly lacking.

Riis pleasantly surprised me with his turn of pace on Saturday TBF but that’s it.

Think also they’re just a well ran club and probably know letting him rot in their reserves isn’t the way to tempt other young EFL talent to sign. No one offered for a permanent all window so no point keeping him. Wouldn’t be shocked if he extended purely because they’ve treated him well and can get a fee. Either way we should be all over it, can’t imagine it’d be expensive

The old players Martin's signed have been such utter shit it's easy to lump him into the same bracket.

He was absolutely terrible when he came on. Like utter shite
