You’d hope there’s some sort of loan fee involved to cover his years depreciation on the transfer fee we paid. Otherwise I’d have probably held onto him and hoped for a permanent deal in January. 
 

Agree with what others have said, I’ve seen worse players for us but at £20m?? Definitely up there as one of the worst signings pound for pound.

Surely not even in the top 5. He has been mediocre and we very much overpaid but his attitude has been fine.

Agreed, but that’s why I qualified it with pound for pound. We’ve made substantially worse signings, even in just the last few years, but *very few for even remotely close to £20m 🤯

He's arguably top 3 because we paid £25 million or whatever it was for a midfielder who isn't good at anything other than looking like hes about to cry

Slimani scored some goals, Silva was fine it wasn't his fault Rudkin was incompetent. The other two are up there for sure.

Yeah you make a fair point actually. Daka and Soumare I’d definitely have as worse signings and both for around the same sort of fee.

One of the worse excuses of a midfielder I've ever seen. When we signed him I posted I didn't rate him but he was worse than I imagined. One of our worse transfers ever. Genuinely done nothing.

His best contribution was getting that red card against Burton so Page could step in and show he’s 10 times the player and 10 times more effective

Silva even when available didn't work. Managed 14 games and we ended up terminating his contract and letting him go for nothing early because he didn't want to be here.

 

Slimani had the sort of finishing rate for us that a lot on here bemoan any striker we are linked too. Wasn't a bad finisher but offered little else. Think he was allowed to leave for nothing as well.

 

Our recruitment after the title win was shocking. We really struggled to adapt and Slimani was a case in point. The sort of player useful when you're scrapping against relegation, maybe. Going for Europe, nope.
