Doesn't quite make up for the previous four or five windows, but the powers-that-be (chiefly McCarron) deserve due credit.

Yeah that’s a totally fair comment, definitely giving McCarron the credit for this one.

A lot more dynamic and have identified and got rid of the deadwood and have at least tried to strengthen in the right areas.

Juror out on a few incomings but in the pond we're fishing you're always likely to catch a few 2 pound black ribbed knobblers

People were quite triumphant about the last summer window, giving 8 or 9/10.

It remains to be seen how good a window it is, we’re light in a few areas. Chiefly at CM, if Page or Braybrooke get injured all of a sudden we’re lacking technical ability centrally.

I have a nagging doubt in 2028/2029/2030 the Burns, Cullen and maybe the Riis deal start to look poor business.

Shifting Winks, Vestergaard, Mavididi, Kristiansen and so is great though, does feel  refreshing.

Hmmm £42m for all three Bilal could surpass that on his own after one season

you can pick a number from somewhere that's bigger than what we got and use that to say 'it's a bad sale' - but on what basis 'should' we have got £42m+ for BEK?

Our recruitment has been so bad for so long it's hard to be fully positive about any incomings - because we don't know if they're just going to be the next crop of players we grow to hate like Okoli, Faes, Vestergaard, Skipp etc

But this time round, at least, we haven't spent £40m+ on them!

I agree, there are some green shoots but I don’t think we should count our chickens.

Relatively we have spent a lot of money for this level and for our financial position. Riis, Cullen, Kangasniemi and Bristric is pretty hefty. I’d imagine only Wrexham and Birmingham have spent more over the past few seasons.

It just got offered 12 months later, Stuggart wanted £65m after one season does that point to us undervaluing him, yes

I was highlighted it’s the value of all three received, as opposed to one player.

If you think they are decent fees great

Going a bit overboard with this

Just a bit considering the impact made by the signings has been minimal at best. In the case of a couple looking worrying past their best.

How much have we actually spent? Got to be about £5m right?

Hard to tell.

  • O'Hara - £0.4m
  • Kangasniemi £2m
  • Burns £75,000
  • Cullen £2m
  • Bristric £1m
  • Riis - some say £2m, others say £4m

Approx £7-9m on fees paid?

Around £2m added to yearly amortisation. And of courses, lots of sales not accounted for

Always makes me laugh that everything that goes badly rudkin gets the blame and everything that goes right is always attributed to someone else!

It's partly his fault because he has never given interviews and that has let fans make their own narrative up.

but the mental gymnastics required to think he is zero percent responsible for everything that went right in the last 12 years and 100 percent responsible for everything that's gone wrong is absolutely wild!

Well done to the arsonist for doing a good job of putting the fire out despite spending three years pouring petrol all over the house.

Rudkin having less of a say is clearly making a difference.

I think praise for the window is on ice for me currently. It depends how they bed in and what results are like on the pitch. Currently not sold on Cullen and Burns, latter especially.

But the signs are there that we are making improvements. One of the better parts of the window is allowing youngsters to shine - Alves, Braybrooke, Page and Joseph staying are just as good as the best signing we make.

I think it’s unfair to judge a window on how they bed in, no one can know that at the time of the transfer. You can only acquire players who have the right attitude and potential, in the right position with the right skills at the right price. We seem to have done most of that. How they go from here is unknown.
