Thing is, with the price of a ticket these days you feel like you’re almost entitled to be entertained. That’s why booing seems more prevalent these days. 
 

Make it a tenner a ticket and if it’s shit, people won’t think they’ve been absolutely robbed by a bunch of players and a manager not fit to wear the shirt.

Do you think they can't see what we see in terms of their sub par performances, do you think they are brain dead because they are under 25.

There is going to have to be a point where we the fans stop with the booing. But that won’t be in this division when you fail to win against a poor 10 men when already 1-0 up with 70 mins left. This situation can only change if we win games of football, and yesterday was a chance to do that and get back to back wins etc - some positivity which we’re not used to. I think there are greens shoots of recovery potentially - but Martin needs to string a run together asap. But I fear yesterday was one of those sliding doors moments…

 

It’s not booing everyone btw. Notably the last 3-4 players off the pitch were the  academy boys who got a universal round of applause. But I hope the likes of Riis and Lundstram realise that the boos aren’t aimed at them but rather years and years of mismanagement by the hierarchy culminating in the appointment of such a divisive manager, when really they needed to appoint someone who could bring everyone together.

There seems to be a general consensus on here that the only true fan, the only true intellectual, studied, tactically aware fan. The fan that sees the light, the future, a pathway back to the promised land.  is the one that shouts embarrassing abuse at players they don’t like and  embarrassing songs about a manager that they don’t like.

I don’t think support or lack of has affected our fortunes one iota on the pitch over these past few years.

 

A toxic atmosphere, however, may speed up necessary actions such as:

 

- the manager leaving

- certain players leaving

- the owner leaving

- Rudkin leaving

 

The priority is change. Whether that’s through boycotting or abuse, demanding change is essential.
 

There’s no way you genuinely believe we’re a crap team because of a lack of support. So why are you saying all this?

 

I suspect it’s because you’re tied to an archaic perception of what football support should be, based on a time when you were supporting local people who you could potentially have some connection to. It’s so, so outdated. None of these people have earned our support, and they clearly don’t value it. We tried it your way - and were met with nothing positive. Just disrespect, 3 relegations and the humiliation of much of our fanbase thinking it’s ok.

 

That latter point, in itself, is a good enough reason to shout abuse. Every player, every media outlet, every city, town and fanbase in the country should know that we are big club massively underachieving, that our fans have too much pride to respect this team.

 

Otherwise we’ll be defined by that gif of the old bag dancing around with a smile on her face after our relegation, so unbothered because she’s looking forward to scoffing an entire family bucket of chicken from KFC for tea. That’s what I think of when I think of our club now.

If you’re going to matches then demand standards I say. When we’re toiling in League One booing isn’t just a right, it’s a duty.

Booing isn't going to speed up the manager leaving if we can't afford to sack him. He's quite possibly a twat. 

Booing isn't going to make the players leave as they'll earn a cushty salary regardless of whether you're clapping or booing them, likely far more than they'll earn elsewhere as evidenced by the past however many years of decline. They'd also require clubs to be interested in them and can't leave until January earliest for any kind of transfer fee. We still have many twatty players. 

Booing isn't going to make the owner leave any quicker. He's already put the club up for sale and the process isn't sped up by booing. He is a twat though. 

Booing isn't going to make Rudkin leave, a change of ownership will. He's also a twat.

 

I don't disagree with most of the negativity though, don't get me wrong, but I'm not sure that the way we're going about it is either "demanding standards" or going to lead to what people might want.
