I don't think I've been to an away game since I had some bad experiences with some coked/drugged up lads that completely ruined it.

 

 

They could barely stand and made it miserable for everyone. Thought to myself "maybe a one off" but went to another away game where it was exactly the same. 

 

Not sure if things have improved since as this was a while a go but wasn't good. 

 

I'm not preaching by the way. People do what they want in their own homes but if you're going to be out of control and lose all spacial awareness and basic etiquette rules with interacting with others then don't go to a packed away end!

Haven't been to an away game since leaving at 3-0 down against QPR and not been to a home game since losing to Watford on Boxing Day.

Main reason being not only do we have the worst owner, worst Chief Football Officer and now arguably the worst manager in the country, but we also comfortably have the worst fanbase.

It's nowhere near toxic enough and many are still happy to line the pockets of King Power, keep funding this sabotage and clap their decisions which have left the club on the brink of oblivion.

Not a chance any other club in the country would put up with the scale of our demise, let alone on the continent.

Unfortunately the relegation has cleansed the fanbase, but of all the wrong fans. Those who are not holding the owner, board and management to account for the lack of standards and blindly accepting things the way they have been for the past three seasons are totally complicit.

I was firmly in the camp of support the players on the pitch but make a stand against the woeful management and sadly now the owners but .....

It is now getting absolutely perilous.  I hate to even mention the unmentionables but we are in real danger of doing a Cov ..... what i mean is, they overspent heavily on a new ground (us on the Seagrave Holiday Camp) and 4 to 5 years later they start the slide to League 2 ..... took them 25 years to get back to the Prem.

This could happen to us so, if the only way of getting something to change is by making our feelings known on matchday then so be it.

Can't believe Thomas got booed everytime he got the ball purely because his own first touch dispossessed him straight away on nearly every occasion.

 

I am not one for being overly negative at a game because I don't personally see the point. Am I going to begrudge anyone who does moan about this shit show, absolutely not

Do you have such a low opinion of these young players, Alves, Braybrooke, Page, Joseph, Aluko, even the loanees that you think they are so thick as to not be able to realise where the anger is aimed at?

McCarthy 36, Faes 28, O'Hara 27, Cullen 27, Risse 28, Bobby 33, Burns 31, Couliaby 27, Thomas 25, Lundstrum 32....and are the ones coping most of the abuse to boot. 

 

We've literally got a handful of young players. Maybe that's me just being "studied"

So will abusing those older players make us any better as a team? Will the younger players hearing that abuse think. This is fine, the fans are booing but I know that it’s nothing to do with me and also actually this toxic atmosphere is really helping me play even better!

Just imagine faes getting the ball and being booed from the off some fans must have a brain the size of a pea. Boo at full time or even half time if you like but not while we’re winning or from the off. At full time there was young ones kicking and snapping seats one hit my lad l felt like switching his lights off but I just couldn’t do it with him there. Grow the fvck up or don’t come.

Let’s keep foxestalk an echo chamber where the only correct thing to do in the situation we are in is to boo our own players and sing negative songs about the newly appointed  manager. Ignore the encouragement that this abuse gives to the opposing team and opposing fans. Booing a player, even before they’ve kicked a ball is undoubtedly only to improve their ability and lack of confidence eh? Sure it is.

You're taking an extremely simplistic view on this in viewing positivity as always being a good thing. If I was a player and my fans were happy with the level of the level performances we are churning out I would be either very confused or actually think this level of performance is acceptable. So yes I do believe letting them know it is not acceptable will make them try harder. 

 

Again, not that I do speak negatively myself but I am not going to begrudge someone who does.

 

What I do not like, are people like you, telling other people how they need to act.

I’ve not told them how to act. I’ve told them to crack on and boo if they want to. So you’re wrong on that point.
 

I simply asked the question as to how they think it will help the team perform better. From an individual performance perspective I would say booing your own players (even before they’ve kicked a ball) is not likely to help them perform better. If I was an opponent fan or team I would also be encouraged and motivated by an opposition fanbase that is focused on abusing their own players and manager. I’d imagine opposition managers will use it in every pre match team talk.

You do realise that is exactly what the original poster is asking for at the games, don’t you?  You will find a lot more sensible and balanced people on here who recognise when we play well, when the right actions are being taken and want the best for the club.  I heard nothing but support from a big away following for 60 minutes and everyone knows this isn’t the kids’ fault. No one can be criticised for supporting the team but equally financial and commercial mismanagement, poor appointments and shit football should be called out.  How do we still have Faes and Thomas starting, and Bobby on the bench, after seasons of failure?  It’s indefensible and if you close your eyes to it you are part of the problem.

Ive repeatedly said it is not on to target individual players or not ideal to boo them from the start. But the way some people go on, it like we’re the only fans where after an awful performance and result, a round of boos will ring round at the final whistle. Have these people never been to a game as this literally happens in grounds up and down the leagues, up and down the country every weekend. Because guess what, in many games, there is a fanbase who are unhappy with what has unfolded!

 

One of the reasons we are in this mess is because too large a number of our fans for years have shut down any sort of questions being asked over the running of the club, meaning the same mistakes were allowed to continue until we find ourselves where we now are. Maybe had standards been demanded on mass, we wouldn’t be here. But no, we won the league and cup you know so it doesn’t matter if the club goes bust!

 

When would these people say enough is enough? League 2? National League? Travelling to an away league game at Harborough Town in the National League North? Maybe not being the highest ranked club in the pyramid in the county! The acceptance that we can fall and fall and not demand any standards is quite incredible and unique to this club seemingly.
