Why spend money going to an away game if your entire experience is going to be relentlessly negative, while also making it miserable for people sitting around you?

 

Was in the stands yesterday for my first away game in a while, the people behind me blaring out “Leicester are going down with Russell Martin” every five minutes, or the “we lost last week, we lost today” chant, and Reid, Thomas, Watson and Burns getting abuse every time they touched the ball.

 

Ok look for something to moan about, fair enough. Have a bit of frustration, fair enough,  but deliberately creating a miserable atmosphere for the people around you is just pathetic.

 

If all you want to do is abuse our own players and ruin the experience for everyone else, don't go. Stay at home.

Because they don't like the way the clubs has plummeted in the last few seasons and this is a way of voicing their concerns.  Freedom.

Are you saying that’s not true.  That imbecile as a Manager is playing football with players that aren’t ’good enough’ to utilise this method.

 

By venting frustration against him and higher up, it is more likely to lead to getting him sacked and hopefully a sale of the club - three relegations in four years and a complete abhorrent mismanagement of our club financially has led us nearly into the abyss.

 

These fans are our only chance.  It has gone past supporting the team, the problem lies ‘much deeper than that’

The dillusion of some people is mind boggling. I can’t decide whether they are genuine or rage baiting for clicks. 

the club is in utter freefall and it’ll be into oblivion soon and yet some people are asking why we are being toxic.. 

 

For what it’s worth in the first half I felt the atmosphere was one of the best in a while, loud, supportive and then as per the lads kick us in the nuts! 
 

We are supposed to clap that (because they had a good few spells of possession) 

 

I feel after matches i need to sit in a dark corner and gather my thoughts

I put a thread out after MK Dons challenging the same negativity from the stands, mainly because I didn't feel there was enough evidence to judge after 3 games. Now we're 7 games in, things have changed for me. The evidence is there that the style of football is holding the players back and is conducive to making things 10x harder than they need to be and not winning football games.

 

Yesterday was a disgrace. Some may argue that poor finishing cost us but it goes both ways as we needlessly gave Barnsley multiple opportunities which they didn't finish off. If both teams were clinical it probably would've still ended in a draw. We were Barnsley's biggest threat as they were happy to sit off us and wait for us to make a mistake. 

 

I gave him a chance but the main role of a manager is to get the best out his players which he clearly isn't doing. I was one of those in the stands yesterday telling Martin to fvck off.

Can't beat a ten man Barnsley team, yes forward play was ok in parts but we don't have anyone to finish these chances off.

 

And for the defence ? Well that's league 2 at best.

concerned let’s make it toxic for the charlatan ownership though in addition to the clown they appointed. We need change and they just treat us like mugs on a continual basis. Why should we take it?

Unless we get new ownership, nothing will change 

 

The last 3 years has been awful, never known it so bad , wasn’t this bad even going back to the Pleat days

I had a very different experience.

 

Arrived to a packed away end with lots of singing and support (we were about 1/3 of the attendance). The only boos were for Wout and those merged into Woots when he did something ok.  There were some ironic songs for sure, but nothing you dont expect at a british away day. We are kind of famous for this in this county.

 

Early goal resulted in lots of noise and support. Sending off resulted in some banter with some obese dude who was waving his fingers at us a lot. Yes, a few ironic songs again (how sh1t must you be,we're winning away  - is pretty common at any clubs away day)

 

Fans (wrongly imho) cheering all the passes at the end of the first half.

 

Things turned, quite rightly, after we conceded, but the support was always there when we attacked.  Burns and Bobby got very muted welcomes but there wasnt a huge amount of toxicity towards them. 

 

Yes, the players got an angry away end at the end of the game. As they should have done. The song towards Martin was loud and clear for the Manager, and surely the players and the ownership would have heard that above everything else.

 

Alves, Brayebrook and Page all hang around a little longer and got applause (or certainly the booing stopped). This felt right to me and and the fact they hang around made me feel they understand whats happening more than most at the club do.

 

Really dont see the issue. The support was there - no one can complain the fans dont care. Due to the tactics, it wasnt good enough, and the fans have every right to point this out.

Is this something new? People getting cheesed off at away games? Fuzzy memory but pretty sure I stood with many fed up fans during the Hamilton, Pleat, Levein and Holloway eras, 

 

Back to back relegations, an owner that can’t recruit a decent manager, I think paying fans have every right to be peed off.
