Leicester=7th largest city in England, in the middle of the country, with one of the highest IQ's in the U.K. (according to a BBC poll), an established fanbase with potential, a lovely newish stadium...

If that doesn't speak for us, then what?

The only danger that I see is that there are still some people within the current organization opposing such a move for personal reasons. Nobody wants to be axed when the new brooms start sweeping...

Well according to Wikipedia - Leicester

It is currently, by population, the 10th largest city in England and the 13th largest in the UK. It is also the 96th largest in Europe.

It says he's interested in us, but don't know about a bid THIS WEEK ???

so it's the same as he's been saying for the past few weeks then? i await a radio leicester reports saying 'nothing has changed' again!

no news is no news!

So it's the same old story then really? He's interested in us, or so he says, 'cos it's keeping him in the public spotlight, so that when he makes a bid for another club and shafts us, it creates a huge shock and gets everybody talking about him and his conduct?!?!:o

To him bournemouth have good potencial. Its a big city and they could attract big crowds if they played decent football.

He could build that team from scratch bascialyl, whereas everything is bascially in place for us and just needs an injection of cash. Depends on whether he wants a BIG challenge or not.

From a Pompey forum:

Milan is said to be at Goodison today as a guest of the City chairman after being in talks to buy them for a reported £23m. Not a bad price considering but i'd hoped Milan wouldn't take over another Premier League club and hoped that last weeks rumours of him buying Bournemouth were nearer to the mark.

I'm not sure exactly how much he invested here but i'm quite surprised that he's willing to invest in a club with a £40m+ debt who don't seem in any better position than us to push on to be a regular top six club. Sure City already have a good stadium (one that i beleive they don't own!) and have a huge fan-base but could Milan seriously achieve anything there than he couldn't have here?

I'm not saying Milan was wrong to go. If i were in his shoes i may have made the same decision, leaving when we're within touching distance of the top of the table and with a squad of proven pro's means that his legacy will be forever treasured amongst the fans, but Man City?

We shall see how events unfold, but it's no secret that Milan was in Manchester yesterday and is, according to reports, near-enough smooching with John Wardle at todays game. I'm surprised to say the least.

I've never seen him at or with anyone from Man City, although IIRC there were stories linking him with them before he came here. I do see some of the reasons he may go there, barring Liverpool and Man Utd i'd guess their fan-base is as big as anyones, i remember them having big crowds when they were playing outside of the Premiership. They do have a ground on a par with anything in the country and i suppose they do have some history, though i'm not sure what that counts. Could you honestly see Milan going there, putting up the money to buy and then throwing millions at trying to get them challenging the likes of Spurs, maybe Liverpool and Arsenal, giving that the top two are pretty much untouchable in the modern game. Not sure i can see it myself. And if it is the case then why didn't he stay here and do it? We might not have the ground but teams certainly don't like coming here. We might not be as desirable as Manchester but i'm sure money talks to potential signings.

Maybe i'm getting unecessarily annoyed, but if Milan wants to invest in taking a club to the next level then why couldn't he do it here?

They've just said on Five Live that City have got a press conference on Tuesday, but they didn't know what is was about, FFS!

I was bored and calculated the total people have spent on Shockinbuyi taken from Wikipedia. On fees alone it was about 14 odd million. Amazing.

Not a bad little earner, but remember - their careers are much shorter than yours and mine.:D

i would imagine the news conference at manchester city is about joey barton and he's probably been made to issue a public apology for showing his ass at the everton fans rather than mm about to take over!

either that or pearce is out!

It needs to be, we simply cannot afford for Mandaric to go anywhere other than us.

Yes that's true. We need to roll out the red carpet for Mandaric now !!!

So how many millions do you expect him to pour into any club then?

Have you checked the Pompey transfer funds utilised in the early years of MM ownership?

Put it this way, [IF Mandaric moved in] he's hardly going to let us go down, is he?

anything would be an improvement on the big fat ZERO the current lot are putting in

it would have been nice if he had come here , the present lot are taking us places thats for sure

i would not be surprised to be playing peterborough on a regular basis while having permission to share the tigers ground at this rate , though watching barry fry nearly having an heart attack running up and down the touchline might be worth it.

seriously though i can never see city attracting any worthwhile investors. all the previous boards managed to keep them away and this present one isnt going to buck the trend.

the thing that really worries me is that forest look to be swapping places with us at the current rate , nearly a quarter of the season has gone and the team have shown little improvement with no money to invest.

you can guarantee that some of the teams beneath us , like leeds , will turn things around.

im really worried for the future of this club and for those that say we will only lose the fairweather fans if we go down , im sorry but they left a long time ago. you want to go out on a saturday to enjoy yourself and go home feeling pleased in at least some form.i didnt go to every match last season , i couldnt afford to but the only win i saw was watford away from what i can remember

Probably quite a bit more than what the current board are pumping in to our club for sure  Atm, any funds are welcome, and if we get Mandaric in, funds will be available and the debt would disappear quicker than if he were not around.

I don't know an awful lot about the Foxes Trust, but from what I can gather through the post I'm replying to, it'd be groups such as yourselves and the current board that'd ruin any chance of a takeover and financial stability/security for the club. We NEED money from an investor, now whether that is a little amount of quite a large amount, it doesn't matter, 'cos at the end of the day, money is money and we have absolutely NONE atm.

I for one (and I think many others) do not want to see the club collapse and fall apart because we're in financial ruin with spiralling debts and a lack of income. The only way it'd change is through an investment by somebody generous.

Come on, don't let trivial things like facts spoil their dreams...lol

But how much did he spend on wages?
