Are we playing Derby at Edgbaston in the T20? That’s what the site says

Didn't we do that last year as part of Edgbaston double header? Will then be Bears v someone straight after

Yeah, likely to be an ongoing thing with the four Midlands sides as it makes them decent cash. Derbyshire are very keen on it and it's technically their home game.

Yeah - last time it was the opening weekend. This time it’s not but they are still doing it. Bit odd

Clubs still wanted to market it as the opener but then the ECB schedulers went and screwed them over with the fixture list.

A good time to step aside I think. The onfield stuff has improved dramatically during his tenure, with a great mix of academy talent, great overseas picks, and useful other recruitments. We’re arguably as good as we’ve been in the 21st century and a lot of that is due to the structures that Jarvis has put in place. Off-field, the financial situation is not great but fears will be allayed with the 100 money. The next CEO has to get us on a sustainable footing. The ground plans are very grand but ultimately we all just want our club at Grace Road.

From a couple of people I know who have had dealings with him, the off-field side was disastrous at times and he was starting to make ludicrous comments like the suggestion we have a Championship game in Dublin (because we have so many fans over there). However, can't argue with the on-field side and what he has signed off in terms of coaching structure and academy development. Needs someone now with the vision, connections and project experience to utilise the Hundred money effectively for the long term.

Doubt he'd move but a figure like Ryan Duckett at Derbyshire would be ideal. In the black 11 years out of the last 12.

It's definitely a model we need to have a good look at. They've also been able to invest in their facilities during that time including the ground.

However I'd guess their playing budget is the lowest of any county. I think they've invested in their academies and pathways too though and so far have Harry Moore to show for it but further time required to judge that.

Yeah. Combine their off-field progression with ours on the field and you'd have a very good outfit.

Here's a sentence I didn't expect to see.

Foxes' Chris Wright and Jamie Dunk helped Cumbria CCC beat Beds CCC in Dunstable last Sunday. Jake Tarling was also playing for the hosts. Match Report and Here.

Probably looking for sme match fitness as we don't have a game. Doesn't Wright live in South Warwickshire, so not too far from Dunstable.

What is the 20/20 minor about?

Agreement that each county plays a minor counties annually.

Previous years theyve sensibly used that as a warm up for the 50 overs stuff and the major counties often weakened by the Hundred.

This year they have allowed the counties to organise it themselves. As a result Leics used this blank Championship week to have a tune up for 20/20

Hard to see Kent winning against Glamorgan from here.

Hopefully Northants can fight back against Lancashire- the longer before they get their act together, the better.

Kent in a real spot of bother which is good.

Kent 70-4, following on. Still 267 behind Glamorgan. Only the weather can save them !
