Hopefully he continues playing and gets a new contract somewhere (The Cricketer suggests Glamorgan or Warwickshire as possibilities). The Derbyshire all-rounder, Anuj Dal, has retired from cricket at just 30. Derbyshire offered him a contract but he's decided to take a role in financial management instead, where I'm guessing he'll be paid more than the contract they offered.

Apparently we were in for him too.

You idiot Ben green

Still seething at that. Atrocious decision in the context of the game. Genuinely looked like we were scared of Abbott at times today.

Anyone heading to Trent Bridge on Sunday? I’m going to get my ticket on Friday providing the forecast looks okay. I was there 3 years ago so hoping for a repeat.

I hope in future years Trent Bridge start marketing the final to neutrals earlier. Has so much potential as an event in the calendar, like Finals Day but with more opportunity for fans of both teams to congregate too.

Would recommend popping into the library during the break, if youte not on the piss. Very impressive collection.

I popped in there last month when I attended the group stage 50 over game between Notts and Leics. Picked up the Michael Atherton autobiography I’m currently reading for £1 in there.

Trent Bridge is probably my favourite ground tbf.

Same, with no pressure for ticket sales, I'll buy on Friday

Unfortunately, Middlesex are a disastrous team for a final. Literally no supporters apart from the egg and bacon tie brigade. They'll have nobody there.

We're never going to take more than 2k-3k ....but at least it's a noisy 2k. Ideally, we needed the final to be Lancs

You might be surprised. Their first cup final for 30 years.

It'll be a pleasant surprise. I hope they do.

I can't see the good folks of Ruislip and Uxbridge and Ealing taking their picnic baskets and man from del monte hats up to Nottingham

They have quite a fan base away from the poshos. Various clubs are running coaches, my Middlesex mate says it's a bit of a big deal to them.

One thing I have learnt is they despise the running of their club.

I hope you're right. Hampshire embarrassed the last final. Couldn't have had 200 there. Fortunately we made the final our own.

Do they have a reserve day for these things at all?  Should it chuck it all day?
Forecast looks good currently, but we do live on an island

Is Alex Green injured?

Ideally need him to play Sunday

Imagine he's being rested for it.

They ended up playing it on the Monday morning two years ago because of the weather.

Looks like Davey might be a doubt for Sunday for a hamstring injury.

Or they only ever planned to use him in the first innings and has been 'rested'. It was quite convenient he pulled up at the end of the over when Hampshire where 9 down and it was an internal injury so difficult to contest, especially under the wild and loose rules around CC subs

I’ve got a spare going as a freebie if you want to meet me at the ground?
