Maharaj Would never be available and the replacement can play all season. Good bowler. Could be worse. Some of the rubbish weve had down the years.

Not sure I would describe a 37 year old with 91 test wickets as a duperstst

a deuperstst

Then have no fear the camera's here 🎶

Real shame to lose Maharaj, not easy to get good replacements at this time of the year. Patel has a decent record and is at least used to bowling in similar conditions in New Zealand.

One of my earliest childhood memories from the 70s was watching Kevin Keegan come crashing off his bike competing in Duperststs

If you look at Sussex's loss then that doesn't surprise me. Higher energy and employment costs have really taken their toll and going forward, all cricket clubs need to find a way of using the Hundred money to make themselves more sustainable 12 months of the year.

Paying the players too much the main issue.Good as Handscomb is are can you justify paying him ,80k a year on crowds of 250

Not sure what the loss was as im not a member either now. Heard it wasnt as bad and a turnover was pretty good. But maybe thats incorrect after what you've just said.

Almost every county loses money.

I still like to go down but only if its a nice day weather wise and we dont play much in high summer.

Days of freezing my nuts off in April long gone.

Top man Peter, shame I can’t make it. He often used to show me the exact spot on the field where Birky sacked him 😂

Yorkshire and Lancs in the t20. A day at Trent Bridge in the champo and working on the wife sorting a freebie for a day at Scarborough.
A third of the ground at Scarborough will be shut this season and prices are high, she works for the RNLI so maybe some strings can be pulled.

Might go Lancs in T20 if I can get the day off. Hove on a Friday very attractive.

Random question but does anyone know if the club intends to carry on with the "free after tea" entry in the County Championship this season?

I’d say it’s 99% certain unless they do something silly. Most counties do it these days right?
