Won with a ball to spare. What was the fuss about?!

At the moment, Surrey/Kent, Notts/Lancs, Glos all through to the next round.

If I'm right in thinking, top 2 from each group go through and then two best 3rd-place finishers join them.

One of those best 3rd-place is Sussex (or Kent).

Then it's between us, Durham, Somerset, Northants, Birmingham for the final spot (although one of the latter 3 will get 2nd place).

Need Worcestershire to beat Birmingham which is on now.

Final games:
Notts vs Durham
Lancs vs Leics
Birmingham vs Northants
Glos vs Somerset

Ideal scenario:

Worcs beat Birmingham tonight.

We beat Lancs (and improve our RR)
Notts beat Durham
Birmingham beat Northants (but not by too much so that their RR stays worse than ours).

That all probably goes out the window if Birmingham win tonight, as Northants would then need to beat Birmingham, and then it's very unlikely we'll improve our RR enough to overtake Northants' in the process.

All to play for, Ackers is a class act, so calm whilst others lose their heads.

Great win against the big time Charlie’s and scoring the winning runs off Chappell

Excellent win but I have 2 grumbles - one minor and one major:

The minor one first - Lilley is great but sometimes he needs to play the percentages a bit more. There was absolutely no need to go for the shot that got him out. We were coasting and had already scored 9 off the over so why  take the risk of trying to hit a 6 at that point, especially as he must know the following batsmen are useless? That almost cost us the game and put huge pressure on Ackerman.

And the major one - How on earth do Dearden and especially Rhodes keep getting chances? Is Nixon contractually obliged to play them or something? Awful again tonight - Dearden was in 3 balls and should have been out twice, whilst Rhodes scratched 1 from 6 whilst barely getting the ball off the square once more. Surely Swindells and Mike would offer more? In fact, I don't think I would do any worse.
