I hope Clarke gets well soon

Was a shame to have to abandon the match, as it was quickly becoming an excellent match, much more competitive than I thought it was going to be.

As I read the other day, Shankly was wrong, football is nowhere near as important as life, and abandoning the game was a good shout.

Just hope we can regain the momentum we had, throughout history we've been typically terrible at replays afetr abandoned matches.

Once again, best wishes to Clive Clarke, I know he's far more likely to read this forum than a Forest one!

Though hopefully you'll stay terrible in replays!

Get Well soon Clive

Son, I reckon Milan's £3.5 million will be reached by close of play tomorrow. :D

Sorry if it's already been posted:

Clarke may play again.

Thats great news for the lad.

I think we can all say that he wont play for Leicester again as we only had him on loan and he obviously returns to Sunderland now. I just hope he recovers and gets to earn a living or at least gets paid well enough from his insurers to not have to worry about money in the short term. Apparently his missus gave birth to their child in recent weeks so he can at least spend some time with his family. I suppose playing again is not on his mind at the moment though.

Clemence just on SSN says that Clarkes heart stop four times. But he has spoke to him since and he is feeling better. Still no clue what caused this. Sounds like he has been lucky.

And what was posted last night about some guy questioning Martin?

It said there that he had 4 Failures.

Really gives some substance to that story now.

This thread should really be made a sticky, at least until Clarke is out of hospital.

We shouldn't allow other events to dispel him from our thoughts.

Don't want to sound callous but we only had him on loan till the end of the year and it's very unlikely he'll play before then. With his (now) medical history it's unlikely that we will sign him after that. Do we still consider him a Leicester player?

Leicester player or not he collapsed wearing our shirt.

An excellent point. I imagine he may well go back to Sunderland after this, but his health deserted him as played for US, and as such deserves OUR loyalty.

Win it for me, lads - Clarke

Clive Clarke has issued a rallying cry from his hospital bed: “Go out and win for me at Plymouth.â€

The on-loan Leicester City defender is continuing to undergo rigorous tests in Nottingham's Queen's Medical Centre after collapsing at half-time in Tuesday's Carling Cup tie at Forest.

Clarke said: “I will be thinking of Leicester and hoping they get a good result. I want the players to do well.â€

Skipper Stephen Clemence says City are determined to win so they can dedicate the three points to the player.

Clarke had to be revived twice after collapsing in the dressing-room on Tuesday. He told the Mercury today: “I've not had a heart attack or heart failure and I'm continuing to undergo investigation.â€

As the club try to put a traumatic week behind them, Clemence, the former Spurs and Birmingham City man, said: “It has not been a nice week for us for a number of reasons, but we have to put it all behind us for this match.

“On Tuesday night, it was very upsetting for everyone.

“Clarkie just fell off the bench in the dressing room and was clearly in trouble.

“We were then taken out of the dressing room, then to a side room and we knew it was very serious.

“It is difficult when you know a team-mate is in a serious condition.

“He had not been at the club long but had fitted in really well so we were all upset. Since then, he has recovered in hospital and we are all delighted.

“This Plymouth game is going to be tough, they always are down there. But, when we go out there, Clarkie is going to be in the front of our minds.

“When I spoke to him I said we would be going out to do our best for him as well, showing how much we are thinking of him and if we get the three points then we will dedicate them to him.â€

With the club still reeling from that, next came Martin Allen's departure and Clemence said: “He bought me and made me club captain and I feel sorry for him but I am sure he will soon be back in the game.

“As players, though, we are professional and are employed by the club to do a job so we will just have to concentrate on the Plymouth match and do what we can.

“We played well in our last away game at Crystal Palace and were unlucky not to win, then we did really well to beat Watford 4-1 but, with all that has been going on, that game seems a long time away now.â€

Clarke's agent, Gary Mellor, confirmed that Clarke's condition was improving, but that he was tired after three days of stringent tests.

“The tests on Thursday went on until quite late so naturally he is tired,†said Mellor.

“He is encouraged by all the support he has received from the football community and I will be passing on all the goodwill messages which have appeared in the Mercury.â€

Just a thought, will LCFC terminate the loan now as I doubt he will play again during the loan period so MM will want to stop paying the wages and send him back to Sunderland?

I would want to buy him if he could get 100% well as he was a good LB

Get well soon cc whats the chances of us getting these messages of good will and support printed off and sent to clive in hospital from all the city fans on ft
