Dames Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 This bloke, Andy his name is, was out with his mate(who works for FoxFM radio, the hospital one) and they went to Fat Cats-as we all know it's one of the hangouts for the players. In there they found, Kisnorbo, Henderson, Doyle, Whitbread and Mr.Allen himself. Well after having a couple of drinks Andy's mate decided he'd go and ask MA what went off, Andy went with him, being a Leicester fan obviously he'd want to know! So his mate asked him straight out......Allen said that he couldn't even pick the team without MM interfering, that MM was constantly telling him who should play, that he had been asking for several weeks for a left-sided player, because he could see we were playing too narrow, yet whenever he went to MM about it, MM was only interested in bringing another striker in. That he wouldn't let him go after the players he really wanted, and he brought players in who he could tell straight away WOULDN'T be good enough, but MM wouldn't listen. He was asked how many of the new signings were HIS decisions...........he said FOUR..... He was asked about Neilsen and he just shook his head and said, DON'T ask....then he said how we had SIX goalies on our books which in his view was ridiculous. He said he knew what was coming because he stood his ground over the JFH fiasco..... He also said(and this will annoy some fans) that the League Cup didn't matter as much to him because the League was the most important thing, even though it was a local derby and he knew what it meant to the fans. MM was of the same view on this so it didn't bother him that he changed the team around for it, the reason he did that was because he wanted those players on the fringes to believe they were a part of the team, because the team spirit was first class and he had got the players starting to believe in themselves. He said IF we won on satdee at Plymouth we could go 6th, and he firmly believed he had the players to get us to the play-offs. He wasn't expecting automatic promotion because of how many more experienced sides there are but he honestly thought he could do what was needed to get us there or there abouts. Then Andy's mate asked him about Clarke, Andy said Allen actually looked like he was going to start crying again when he started to talk about him. Clarke didn't have two heart attacks, he had four, and then he said he didn't care if he got the sack, but for MM to sack Doyle, who got Clarke's heart going again all four times before the paramedics got there he was fuming over. After what he did that night he deserved better treatment. He said that the atmosphere at the ground was nasty and you could feel how everything was controlled, which is why he tried to make the training ground a squad only place. He said he loved it here, he loved working with the players and he loved talking to the fans. And that he's sad he never had the chance to prove he could do the job well. Andy said Kisnorbo and Henderson didn't say anything whilst Allen was talking, but they were watching and listening to all of it. After that they just spoke a bit about the future, wishing him good luck etc then bought him and the others a drink and left them to it. If this is true then Milan is a cock of the highest order.
Geo V Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Just a thought, but maybe Allen was too hard to work with. Don McKay and the others that left after about a week at the club possibly left because they didn't like the way MA worked. Only a possibility but there was hardly a concrete reason for their departures. At first I thought, I don't care how hard he was to work with, he would have got us promoted, but now I'm not so sure - I think you need everyone at the club onside to be successful. They were sacked.
BigGibbo Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 If this is true then Milan is a cock of the highest order. yeah if it is thats pretty much my worst fears recognised
forceof69 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Do you believe this person's story Mark? Sounds like sour grapes to me from Allen if it is true.
Unabomber Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Do you believe this person's story Mark? Sounds like sour grapes to me from Allen if it is true. Isn't this guy a fairly respected poster on TalkingBalls?
forceof69 Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 Don't know, I only briefly skim the thread on there and Rivals, not a member.
Bluefoxtim Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I doubt there is any truth in that as we know that Allen and MM have signed contracts and revealing details will land them in a spot of bother.
Unabomber Posted 30 August 2007 Posted 30 August 2007 I doubt there is any truth in that as we know that Allen and MM have signed contracts and revealing details will land them in a spot of bother. That would regard media, so I doubt that Martin would mind telling some home truths to a couple of guys speaking to him at a bar. Sounds like he was devastated about Doyle going, so he was clearly upset.
jaffa1970 Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 made the papers here in melbourne, as did the clive clarke collapse. our following grows throughout the southern hemisphere
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 made the papers here in melbourne, as did the clive clarke collapse.our following grows throughout the southern hemisphere I did see that, also last week there was an article side by side about Paddy K featuring leicester and Tiatto about his time in England and his last few years in Leicester so the word is spreading about LCFC down under.
Thracian Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 If this is true then Milan is a cock of the highest order. I'm inclined to believe every word of that especially considering the witnesses mentioned. It sounds typical MA and what Leicester City needs is not a new manager but our old one back. Mandaric is beneath contempt in my estimation.
teblin Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 If it is true, i'm suprised he didn't walk let alone getting the sack.
RedOnRed Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 If it is true, i'm suprised he didn't walk let alone getting the sack. If he'd walked he wouldn't have got paid off.
Lillehamring Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 re: the long 'fat cats' post... quite frankly, i think this is utter fantasy, i can't even conceive that MA, after all this, with his current media profile would be in a pub in leicester slagging off his ex-boss to a couple of random blokes... furthermore, it seems to be extraordinarily one-sided and, if true, seems to overlook everything we have heard about MA's ego. Based on what MA has said previously, it is much more likely that he has taken time away to be with his family. personally, i will give all of these romours an extremely wide berth... at bottom, he has gone, he is no longer leicester city, i don't care what happened or why...
Steven Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Isn't this guy a fairly respected poster on TalkingBalls? beaumontfox is well respected and is the sort of person to go up to someone and ask awkward questions.
teblin Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 If he'd walked he wouldn't have got paid off. Good point well made. I think its a bit strange that allen having signed an agreement would tell a person in a pub all this. But i guess stranger things have happened.
chesterfox Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Just ask one question to yourselves(and I hope I'm wrong about the replacement) but MA - fans' favourite building positivity in the club and fast becoming a legend v Roeder, Megson, Warnock????????? For me the comparison is the difference to use MM's own analogy the difference between Everest and Beacon Hill F*** MM - we might need money but the club is more than that
Daggers Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I'm guessing Mandy just decided to skip the pudding and go straight for the bill...
Brainy Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Interesting reading. Nice to know what is/was going on behind the scenes even if it is a farce.
Thracian Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 That would all seem reasonable had you not called for Worthington's head after one game. (which you didn't see)Where was his chance to do the job he was taken on for? While the discussion centres around Milan's action as club owner, not mine, I can tell you that had I had any influence Kelly wouldn't have lasted so long without a major change of direction, we wouldn't have signed any of those awful loanees and Worthington would never have had a problem with me cos he'd never have been appointed in the first place. However, in the inconceivable event that I had signed him, he'd have got my backing, as was the case with Milan as it transpired.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 While the discussion centres around Milan's action as club owner, not mine, I can tell you that had I had any influence Kelly wouldn't have lasted so long without a major change of direction, we wouldn't have signed any of those awful loanees and Worthington would never have had a problem with me cos he'd never have been appointed in the first place. Also we wouldn't have had that awful Nils-Eric Johansson who never did anything useful for us.
Raj Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 F*** MM - we might need money but the club is more than that If you can arrange a consortium of millionaires to put some money into LCFC,we can tell MM to fcuk off. No....its not that easy is it???
Master Fox Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 I'm guessing Mandy just decided to skip the pudding and go straight for the bill... Allen must now feel like a right twat after spouting all that crap and then losing his job after 4 games...
Thracian Posted 31 August 2007 Posted 31 August 2007 Also we wouldn't have had that awful Nils-Eric Johansson who never did anything useful for us. Nippy little peck that the truth doesn't stand up. I might be wrong but rather think I put Nils on my retained list last season because I've always considered him a sound defensive alternative. In many ways I admired his consistency and the fact he made the best of what he had. He just wasn't the type of full-back I'd want for the sort of football I'd have wanted to play. In the event, overall last season, I was fairly praising of Nils.
