Ragdale hall day spa with unch and afternoon tea.

Expensive  day out but totally awesome.

Would recommend  to anyone if they like that sort of thing.

As part of the tennis aftermath Nike apparently are doing a roaring trade. I sent off for my stuff yesterday and it arrived next day delivery this morning.  I must admit I cut quite a dashing figure at the petrol station this morning in my tight fitting red top ..  orange sun visor ..  olive green trousers and hunting boots. A couple of people came up and asked for autographs and seemed quite put out when I explained that I was a middle aged greying old man and not a female teenage tennis sensation.  Whilst out in the forest later I didn’t get anything ..  mainly because I’d swapped my rifle for a Wilson blade tennis  racquet and couldn’t get near enough for a double backhand smash to the head.   :)

Quite literally shit.

Spotted a homeless junkie shuffling out of the shop from the toilet area so, thinking he'd been using the facilities to clean himself up (not uncommon and honestly I don't mind it), I went to see if there was much water on the floor to clean up.  There was not, but what I found in there defies all natural explanation:  Sitting inside the toilet was a densely packed lump of shit about the size of a regulation rugby ball.  This thing was so large that half of it was rising up far above the water's surface and so heavy that using the flush didn't even cause it to shift slightly in the bowl, let alone disappear.  It's no wonder the poor bastard was limping on his way out. lol

So how did you deal with the rugby ball sized lump of dump?

Actually leaving the house today to see a client 'face to face' for the first time since March last year.

Feels weird having to get dressed up in smart clobber again. Not really looking forward to it tbh (especially the 90 min drive each way)

Had the pleasure of doing a Q&A with Ian Woosnam last night.

What a seriously sound bloke, brilliant company.

One of my golfing hero's. I remember watching Woosie at the Belfry in the '89 Ryder Cup and he was brilliant. Hit the ball a mile for someone who's only 5 foot 3!

Loves his beer and always tells a good tale. I bet he was great to work with.

Been in a job I absolutely hate for a couple of months now. Awful hours (12 hour nights) and work weekends too. In a role where I’m totally out of my depth, was told I would be given the support to be able to do the job but I’ve had absolutely none. Been applying for new jobs and I’ve got myself an interview, hopefully things are on the up.

Good luck !!

Awesome, I remember you posting about it previously.  If they're not looking after their staff at a time when everywhere is hiring they're proper mugs and deserve what they get

Handed my notice in at work today which I was s****** myself about since Friday last week when I decided I would do it. Went ok tried to persuade me to stay which I suppose is nice but already made my mind up even though they were willing to offer a pay rise which would be more than I will be on in the new job but it is just time to move on. Shame as I really like the people I work with but the workload was just to much in the end

More money ..  really like the people you work with …. maybe worth asking if they can reduce your workload ..  if you don’t ask you don’t get.

Correct decision. 1. If they value you that much, why aren’t they paying you that anyway? And 2. You’d just be looking in 6 months if you’d have stayed anyway because money doesn’t mask the issues that are obviously there regardless.

Good luck in your new role.

They only said this due to me wanting to leave as it was a bit out of the blue they have been short staffed for nearly a year and 2 of us have been doing the work of 5 people. We have told them we need help as well on a few occasions but never really took it seriously. I am getting a small wage rise in the new job but maybe half the work load over all.

Thanks.👍
I spoke to my wife after speaking to them and she agreed that even if I stayed and they reduced the work load once you get asked to do one or 2 things to help out again it gets back to square one and you have stacked with to much. It wasn’t even really about the money which I said to them it was just time to move.

Fair enough ..  you know all the nuances of the situation which are hard to determine from a single post. But ..  if they offer you more it’s because they don’t want you to go ..  so use that to your advantage ..  you have absolutely nothing to lose and a new job to go to.  Of course they could have done this before but of course they wouldn’t if they thought that you wouldn’t do anything about the situation.

It was a hard decision to make in the end and I know I wasn’t on a great wage for what I did it wasn’t the money which was the issue in the end it was the work load. And I do feel even if I got a rise they would expect more to be done which just isn’t possible.

I decided to have a go at making fresh pasta today.

A bit time consuming but it was well worth the effort.

Did you roll it by hand or use a machine?

I love fresh pasta but have never tried making it

By hand, though we all enjoyed it sufficiently to make buying a machine worthwhile.

Tbh, I could never go back to dried pasta again after tasting it fresh.

I think you've 100% made the right decision.

Your current  work are taking the p1ss and are now panicking to get you to stay on. Like your Mrs says a few months down the line you'll be back here.

Takes bo11ox to move to a new place but you know when you've hit the end.  I left my previous  place after 26 years and am at my current place 6 years!!!( only stay there as it's only 15 mins bike ride to work and I finish at 3!!!)

Good luck in your new role- you'll be fine and you have  definitely made the right choice- the Mrs is ALWAYS  right!!!

Thank you , I  think it is the right decision to make as well. I have been there 4 years and it was just getting to much of a work load and like you say they took the p1ss .quite lucky it’s only a 5 min walk from my house. Also Quite lucky that the new place is only 5 mins in the other direction 😂 . Should have tried to get a 3 o clock finish in the new job would have made it more than worth it 😂

thanks again and yeah they are normally right I just try not to let her know it as I will never hear the end of it 😂

Some companies will offer to match or go above but they do so knowing that they will keep you around long enough to bring in a newer and likely cheaper option who gets up to speed and then bammmmm let you go.

Right decision. I am in a similar situ and looking to leave my  current job.
