So much since I've last been on but the biggest is I lost my stepson to addiction last year. He was 29 and I tried CPR on him knowing he was dead until the paramedics came.

We're as good as we can be but it never gets easier

Really sorry to hear about your loss. It's never easy  and hurts when something like addiction takes them. I lost a childhood friend to an overdose and it was heart breaking for his family let alone others. My thoughts are with you and the family. Remember the good times and keep those at the forefront as best as you can.  Do take care.

Nice pic. Got to love photog's and their instructions. After a wedding you are a professional model basically. Now, vogue!

Great pic,  enjoy the day. More importantly how good are @shimlafoods? Lol

Amazing! Best caterers we could have wished for.

As for the photos, my face aches from it all lol

Down the allotments today, we look after four, when I saw quite a few wasps flying in and out of one of our shed windows.

Went to have a look and moved some stuff out of the way, suddenly 100’s of wasps emerged and had ago at me. Legged it as best I could, but they followed me persistently had a few dozen around my face and neck.

I’ve slapped by face and neck instinctively and repeatedly trying to shift them and have given myself a black eye and a nasty weal on my neck😂. Didn’t know I could slap so hard! Had to ditch my jumper which was crawling with the critters.

Luckily only got stung half a dozen times or so, but just ordered full protective kit and sorting them out Wednesday. Otherwise good day!

Sounds horrendous!

I've never been stung by a bee or a wasp and don't really want to be.

Probably prefer that to a slap off you though lol

Good luck on Wednesday, not that you'll need it, you hard bastard

Cheers. I did panic at first, but used to get stung occasionally as a kid in the 60’s as we were always playing outside. The odd sting is normally ok although I personally think bee stings are more painful and for the bee as well as they don’t survive.

Just hope the nest is not bigger than a small loaf of bread when I locate it. The shed is 10 x 8 and full of stuff I normally don’t need very often. True, one sting better than a slap, but think I got away light today.

What's the plan of attack?

Thankfully, never something I've had to deal with, but I reckon I'd go smoke bomb!

Thinking of wasp spray or smoke. Got a mate works full time in the LCC pest squad who’ll sort me out with the right kit and advice. Massive city fan as well, travels all over👍

@StanSPI've just come across this...

https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/articles/4V3mdrPwV3m1NpjWw9YnKht/your-favourite-wedding-banger-the-results-are-in

Can you confirm this list is accurate?

I'm skeptical as I don't see Boom Shack-A-Lack by Apache Indian.

Hope you had a good day for the wedding mate and those cheeks have stopped aching

Edit...I mean the cheeks on your face from smiling. I'm not insinuating anything kinky was going on.

Each to their own though.

I'll shut up now lol

IMO Some of the songs on that list have no business being on it. Sidhu moosewala ffs what is happening to our youth. Lol.

Haha I can't disagree with #1 as that's literally everyone's go-to at an Indian wedding to get party going, whether you're Indian or not!

#6 is a classic from my childhood so I'd have had that higher still!

The face cheeks are slowly returning back to normal lol

It was the perfect day, absolutely knackered now but totally worth it!

You really don’t! I’d never been stung by a wasp till recently getting stung on the finger. Couldn’t believe how much it hurt, and the finger swelled up alarmingly!

You have my sympathy, it definitely put my sexuality beyond doubt. Not my cup of tea, but a necessary thing for us blokes!

Finally counted what I think are 16 puncture wounds from my escapade a couple of days ago, but after two sleepless nights all good.

Today, however, has been a good day. Went to De Mont for their first gig (I think) post Covid to see Rumours of Fleetwood Mac. About 90% full, what a band, what a great atmosphere.

I know we’ve had a few full houses at the footy, but indoors, everything being basically back to normal was fantastic. I live near Queens Road shops and to walk across Vicky Park to De Mont (which I used to take for granted) was a bit surreal. Would be OTT to say it was emotional, but certainly after the last 18 months felt good to be alive and engaging with people.

I previously went to lots of shows / gigs and have to say the Stevie Nicks lead singer was simply phenomenal, go to see this group if you can. You will not be disappointed. The guitarists are unbelievably talented.

However, being an old fart, my favourite part is always the start of the second set where the females are left out and the blokes play a Peter Green set from Black Magic Women to Oh Well. That 25 minutes for me is worth the admission. Having said that the groups rendition of The Chain was brilliant.

Our Internet was out for about 2 or 3 hours. Anyone else?

My Sky Broadband has been on and off most of the afternoon. Looking on twitter it seems problems across the country today.

My Sky broadband died about 1430 this afternoon. Very frustrating as I'm working from home.

Kids came home from school and thought the world had ended!

It has come back on now though

Slightly off topic but on the subject of wasps, has anyone come across Brave Wilderness before? Was fascinated by his videos of him getting stung by stingy things:
