ibbosuk Posted 31 December 2007 Posted 31 December 2007 Had a text from a mate that another forum says Bolton are in for him.Megson obviously liked what he saw. Yep, I think he will end up at Bolton, somethings clearly been set up somewhere, I think he's Prem bound.
ibbosuk Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Yep, I think he will end up at Bolton, somethings clearly been set up somewhere, I think he's Prem bound. Barber states Sunderland are holding out for 2 million for Fulop. So unless they budge on that I think any deal is as good as dead, and so it should be, as I think this price is based on the amounts of clean sheets he had at City but that I think does not take into account of the good defenders Fulop has had in front of him and to enable him to gain the impressive "Clean sheets record". Henderson will now be City's keeper so its going to be interesting to see if the goals against  column Significantly changes in this period.

I'd have been delighted but sunderland would have been daft to accept £1m. We should get the job sorted and move on.

Matt Posted 1 January 2008 Author Posted 1 January 2008   FULOP! Pllllllllllllleaaaseee....we need you!
Linvoy Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I paid £4 mil on football manager FULOP! FULOP! FULOP!
Nick Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I paid £4 mil on football manager FULOP! FULOP! FULOP! I wrote this yesterday.... I hope I am going to be right after post Hendo performance......... Sunderland are in for Hunt (Reading) and Savage amongst others and need the cash as a result. They are game playing and quite simply are after 1.5+ for a lad they didn't actually want to sell though settled for a loan deal to keep him happy. They will link him with several other clubs over the next three days (which he won't agree terms with or probably even speak to) and then he'll come to us for 1.4- 1.6 million or thereabouts after Milan watches tomorrows "in nets performance". Of all the places we need strength on the park this is no place to make cuts or settle, Fulop for me is worth 1.5 million as he appears to be one of say, 'three' that might cut it in the prem week in week out. I'd be surprised if MM goes to 2 million, though I wouldn't be disappointed with the result. N.
Lets Be having You Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 ollie just said on radio leices sunderland want £3million
Steven Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I paid £4 mil on football manager FULOP! FULOP! FULOP! Close they want £3 million for him. IH just said this on the radio.
DB11 Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Would anyone pay that for him? Just because they spent 9 million on a dodgy keeper doesn't mean everyone will spend a lot on goalkeepers?
Mort Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 I'd put his worth at £2-2.5mil, but £3mil sounds a little high. Either way, we need a decent reliable keeper and that's Fulop. The £3mil could well be part of the negotiations, rather the actual price thats being mooted... either way we're not in a strong position to bargin from... so it might be pretty steep but I'd still say it's worth it, £3mil (including add ons?) cant be too bad.
Moreton Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Henderson it is then. looks it then if Milan dosnt get his check book out
Dames Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Well with Milan wasting his money on duffers this isn't going to happen. Sad Really.
lee7 Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 £2-2.5 million i'd say was a fair price. £3 million is a high price to pay for a goalkeeper but i don't think there is a better goalkeeper than him in the championship so hopefully holloway will still try and sign him.
ibbosuk Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Close they want £3 million for him. IH just said this on the radio. Yep Holloways just said Sunderland are asking "Nearly 3 million for Fulop and it looks like the deal is dead"
Head Honcho Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Is 3 million pounds too much for an international keeper who could possibly be worth double that in a couple of years? I'm not sure it is If Milan wants to take this club to the Premiership then this is what he needs to be spending. Fulop will only get better imo and as such so will his worth.

If we spent up to 2.1 million on DJ Campbell, surely Fulop's worth 3?
davieG Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 We need to come up with deal that includes sell on and promotion clauses but then I'm sure they are trying everything to get a good deal in what is essentially a sellers market!
Simon Posted 1 January 2008 Posted 1 January 2008 Agreed. If we spent up to 2.1 million on DJ Campbell, surely Fulop's worth 3? I personally think he is... BUT If we spent 3 mil on Fulop that would bring our transfer spending in this window to 4.5 mil. I reckon that's pretty much close on Ollie's total budget for the ENTIRE window- being as he feels we need to strengthen in other areas you can see why he's loathe to blow 3 mil on a keeper. It's a difficult choice.

Yeah, and if he stays we will have a good keeper for the next 10 years at least
