WetFlannel Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I'm not going to defend Shush!'s performances. It seems strange that a player who can cross the ball well should suddenly lose that ability but I don't doubt the reports and wonder if his mind is still in turmoil after his move. Whatever, I think it absolutely typical of some on here that they'll consider the Hungarians should have time to settle and acclimatise at City while individuals here wouldn't deem to offer the same licence to Shush!. Had I signed Shush! for Leeds I'd have almost certainly started him in the reserves. But there you go. Why do you think Beswick should be given the chance then as he will blatantly need time to settle in, just like the Hungarians? Or any other reserve team player added to that.

Or any other reserve team player added to that. Because I'm quite sure he could cope coming off the bench for 20/30 minutes and might well pose a threat. He's a different style of player to Laczko as I've already detailed. At present we only have one serious left-wing alternative. I'd be busting a gut to have a decent option and anyone who watched the two in the same team would hardly doubt that Beswick was a perfectly acceptable alternative.

I'll pop down to the next reserve game and hopefully I can back you up. I hope he doesn't have an "off day" though
Bryn Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 The Hungarians need time to settle because they're Hungarian A trip up the M1 doesn't exactly require too much time to get over, especially when you're playing for a team filled with a bunch of your old teammates anyway.
Thracian Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 I'll pop down to the next reserve game and hopefully I can back you up. I hope he doesn't have an "off day" though It's tomorrow. Make yourself known if you like.
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Shush!'s been at City a long time. I'm quite sure there'll be much soul-serarching and readjustment needed football wise and in terms of resettling generally. blast the players that come from all over the world and look out of place after 2 games and write them off, and make excuses for a lad whos had to go 100 miles up the motorway (and has been there for a month might I add). Dear oh dear.

Whatever, I think it typical of some on here that they'll consider the Hungarians should have time to settle and acclimatise at City while they wouldn't offer the same licence to Shush!. And that Shush! should be pilloried after a couple of games for Leeds while Fryatt can have a whole bad season plus and indifferent half season and still retain support. Had I signed Shush! for Leeds I'd have almost certainly started him in the reserves. But there you go. is that because reserve teams should always be a clubs priority??! from what i've heard sheehans had something like 74 disallowed goals since joining leeds, 9 less than dodds this season

Dear oh dear. And who exactly did I write off?
Manwell Pablo Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 And who exactly did I write off? Hungarians, both of, please do not make me go and find the quotes. and Hossein Kaebi who was always going to need at least a year to adapt if we were seious about getting the best out of him.
Daggers Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Hungarians, both of, please do not make me go and find the quotes. and Hossein Kaebi who was always going to need at least a year to adapt if we were seious about getting the best out of him. Let's not forget a manager after one unwatched game
Father Ted Posted 17 February 2008 Posted 17 February 2008 Ha. Anybody see Logan on the Championship, I nearly pissed myself.

Nonsense. I said they needed to acclimatise and have the time to adjust to requirements here. I still think that will prove the case. It won't all come right cos Laczko's done well in a couple of his six games. However I do think he wants to learn and is trying to learn and that should help. At no stage did I think Kaebi would make a first team player but it was still obvious he would need some considerable time to settle in to have any chance, but it didn't happen and in all probability the time spent would have been wasted.

Kaebi came at the wrong time. Once the managers had changed he was never going to settle.
Messi Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Ha. Anybody see Logan on the Championship, I nearly pissed myself. What Happened?
Joe. Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 What Happened? Think Dion Dublin for Coventry. Think Robbie Keane for Spurs. Think keeper howler. Think red card.
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Thought I'd put a link to it - it's fairly amusing for... Logan Gaff 1.) The obvious 2.) Uria Rennie's over reaction red card 3.) Seeing that Logan's going Rab Doglas on us
Messi Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Think Dion Dublin for Coventry.Think Robbie Keane for Spurs. Think keeper howler. Think red card. seen it on Big League Weekend and after that he had to be even further embarrased by undressing in the middle of the pitch
The Reverend Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 seen it on Big League Weekend and after that he had to be even further embarrased by undressing in the middle of the pitch He really is Kevin Pressmans natural successor.
Nationwider Posted 18 February 2008 Posted 18 February 2008 Logan shouldn't have been on the pitch in the first place as his strip was identical to the other sides'. [/pedantry]
Trotty Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Jonathan Hayes is doing okay for us. Looks good when he's played on the wing but unfortunetly we play with wing backs so he only really fits in if we change it.

Seriously, if you ever want any more players - we've got loads of sh it ones you're more than welcome to have.
Bryn Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Seriously, if you ever want any more players - we've got loads of sh it ones you're more than welcome to have. Aye. If you're ever in the market for a fast striker with plenty of "impact" give us a bell.
The People's Hero Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Aye. If you're ever in the market for a fast striker with plenty of "impact" give us a bell. Yeah ... and the laughter in the background will be because someone will have just told quite a funny joke.
Thracian Posted 20 February 2008 Posted 20 February 2008 Aye. If you're ever in the market for a fast striker with plenty of "impact" give us a bell. That crosses Fryatt off, and, besides, Northampton couldn't afford him, at least not yet!
