DB11 Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 More impressive than my ham salad and coleslaw sandwiches with pickled onion and ryvita/Philadelphia
FoxesAreBlue Posted 11 January 2015 Posted 11 January 2015 More impressive than what looks like dog meat stew that I've just fished out of the slow cooker.
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Has anyone ever done the eating challenge at Jones cafe on Queens Road? I see there is an article about some american eater doing it. Might try it, looks pretty nice. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/American-professional-eater-completes-big/story-25920298-detail/story.html

Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 i reckon i could do it Same here, not in a record time but I'd do it.

Might try it, looks pretty nice. http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/American-professional-eater-completes-big/story-25920298-detail/story.html I tried and failed but to be fair I had a massive dinner the night before and tried the challenge on a whim. It's not too hard and I would have completed it in a proper state. The trick is to make little sandwiches out of the toast and egg. The woman said she thought I was gonna do it but I slowed down horrendously in the last 10 minutes. I left a sausage, 2 bacon, 1 hash brown and 3 pancakes (which are the worst as they end up being like a sponge in your stomach).

It looks do-able, but the amount of bread there looks off-putting. Need to let that soak in the sauce before eating. How much is it for a pop?
Itsthejoeker Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 I'd be able to tackle that, not in 12 minutes though. Also providing the pancakes are on a different plate.
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 You get 30 mins, if you do it you get it for free if not then it is £15.

Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Wigston-Bloke | January 26 2015, 10:12PM Really, is this anything to be proud of? Erm yes.
Webbo Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Just had some lasagne for tea, delightful. I was thinking my favourite teas all seem to have mince and cheese in it, like burritos as well. Is there anything else with beef mince and cheese in it I should try?

Pasta with meatballs topped with cheese. Beef taco salad topped with cheese.
Nick Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Beyond taco's, chilli and putting cheese in homemade burgers, my cheesy beef repertoire ends!
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Biscuits. Reckon you could do that eating challenge Ken?

Webbo Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 cheese topped with mince makes a nice change from boring mince topped with cheese. It's that kind of blue sky thinking that makes British cuisine so respected around the world.
Rincewind Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Reckon you could do that eating challenge Ken? Not now. Lost my appetite as I've grown older. A good thing in a way because it means spending less and saving on food bills.
Unabomber Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 Not now. Lost my appetite as I've grown older. A good thing in a way because it means spending less and saving on food bills. Shame though cos if you do it, it's free.
Strokes Posted 27 January 2015 Posted 27 January 2015 I'd be able to tackle that, not in 12 minutes though. Also providing the pancakes are on a different plate. Same, I'm not keen on maple syrup touching my sausages. I'd save the pancakes for a pudding, do you think I could order extra ice cream?
Carl the Llama Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Anyone ever tried one of these bad boys? Delectable doesn't do it justice.
AoWW Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 Anyone got an Aga? At the moment it's just a large warm object that's nice to cuddle but I'm told I can cook on/in it. It has no apparent controls or instructions. Bizarre. *eyes it with suspicion* I fear I'm going to have to buy a book about it and do some proper research.
Carl the Llama Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 I've never heard of these before but now I really want one.
BoneDog Posted 2 February 2015 Posted 2 February 2015 2 bananas sliced up in a bowl with a big tub of Yeo Valley blueberry yoghurt on top, with a hint of lime. It's a fine snack.
