MOD NOTE: PLEASE SPECIFY IF YOUR RATINGS ARE BASED ON WATCHING THE GAME ON TELLY

Henderson 7 - Some very good saves

Stearman 8 - Did his almighty best but just wasn't enough

Mcauley 8.5 * - The star of a solid defence, hit the post and if anyone was going to be the hero it would be him

N'gotty 7.5 - Was steady enough against Fuller

Mattock 7 - Much better than what Clapham would have done

Worley 7.5 - A monster! Some tough tackles, good in the air but a bit shy at times, good debut.

Oakley 7.5 - Spread the play well but didn't really get stuck in enough

Bell 8 - Some good touches, made space.

Hume 7.5 - Many stray passes but tried to make the difference towards the end but it was just too late

Howard 5 - Was fired up at the beginning and hammered Wilkinson with a quality tackle. After that same old, same old!

Hayles 6 - Started well, chasing balls, winning throws and corners but things weren't going his was and just couldn't be bothered and totally lost it.

Holloway - 0 TWAT

Subs:

Fryatt N/A - Not enough time

Chambers N/A - As above

Defence was amazing. Midfield was improvement, upfront was average.

It was blatantly obvious there was one huge gaping massive fat-woman-with-a-fat-arse kind of problem - the attack. Everyone else did their part - goalie played great, defence did their job but the attack? They left them on the bus back in Leicester it seemed.

Henderson 7.5 (Produced an outstanding save and was one individual who couldn't be blamed in any way for for letting us down).

Stearman 8 (If simple commitment to the cause could have saved City, Stearman would have been a hero. Today's result will be a shock to the depths of his soul. Super season Richard. You'd probably be skipper next season if I had my way.).

McAuley 6.75 (So close with his header but it was a rare moment of hope. Sound enough in defence although Stoke weren't ever going to over-commit).

N'gotty 6.75 (Dealt with bogeyman Fuller well but there was so little link between defence and attack).

Mattock 6 (Defensively fine, offered insufficient going forward though).

Worley 6 (Surprise selection and he did well enough in adding a further skin to an already sound defence. But he wasn't what we needed to win.).

Oakley 5.5 (Another okay but inconsequential display. Failed to score in his entire 20-game spell with us but Holloway continued to express blind faith in him.)

Bell 6 (Caught the eye occasionally but never asked enough questions or seriously threatened to dominate the game).

Hume 6.25 (Endless effort as usual and almost made a goal for Hayles but for a schoolboy finish but his big chance free-kick was awful).

Howard 5 (Started well enough but faded fast and was never really much trouble to the Stoke defence).

Hayles 4 (Awful. Lousy close control, passing to match and poor shooting capped a performance he could take no pride in at all).

Holloway 0 (In almost every way the bloke was and has been a disaster. Tactically, today was a nightmare. To me he's done the club so much damage but words are wasted on him.)

I'd agree with that but for a few alterations. Bump Mattock up to an 8 (he coped with Lawrence fantastically) and cut Hayles, Howard and Hume down by one. As soon as Hume was moved upfront, he did more than Howard and Hayles had in the entire match.

From the tele:

Hendo and Stears covered themselves with glory.

Like everyone else, I have no idea why we made no effort to change the team around and attack in the second half. As Hayles ran out of steam we were screaming for a change from the turn of the hour. I am deeply, deeply disappointed with Holloway and the coaching staff today.

With regards to Ollie, people at the ground we're shouting for him to make changes, but one minute we were up and the next we were down so there was always that element of doubt whether he should alter it or not. For example, if we had thrown on Fryatt for Worley earlier and conceded, whilst we only needed a point to stay up, Ollie would have vilified. (It's not like we had anyone who could change the game on the bench anyway  )

EDIT: I do agree one of the front two should have been taken off earlier though. I was just suggesting how people round me were shouting for 3 up front.

But today isn't about Mandaric, the manager and his staff or any of those muppets who have worn blue and white all season long. It's about our club, and us. Next season is the biggest in the club's history. We can follow Leeds' example and teach the league a lesson, or dwindle off into non-existancy.

From TV (Like it matters...)

Henderson 8 - Gets a 6 for a solid all round display and 2 more for some excellent saves. Take a bow Paul, you've excelled yourself and you've let noone down these last few games. You may well be replaced as No. 1 but I for one will not complain should you line up in goal come the first game of next season.

Stearman 7 - Solid and willing going forward but was never going to score many points going forward in that team. Can hold his head up and I seriously hope we keep him.

Mattock 6 - Solid, again willing going forward, slightly less composed than Stearman IMO. But he's competent, good going forward, solid and strong and he's clearly going to make it. Hope we keep him.

N'Gotty 6 - Solid most of the time but pace clearly worried him and he was lucky not to give away two penalties. Distribution is probably a bit better than Kisnorbo's.

McAuley 6 - Same as N'Gotty really. Was unlucky to miss his header but at the end of the day, a free header from a corner in the middle of the box should be hitting the target every time.

Hume 6 - Willing and had a couple of good efforts saved, should have done better with the freekick. Hope he is retained.

Worley 6 - Fairly quiet but didn't let anyone down as such, tough tackler.

Oakley 5 - Same old. Inconsistent, tidy when on the ball but doesn't stamp his authority on the game at all.

Bell 6 - Ok. Good on the ball but his final product needs work. Still don't see why we've bought a winger off the back of a decent League 1 season when we already have a winger off the back of an exceptional League 1 season on the books.

Howard 5 - Good in the air but he's so immobile, if he had the mobility of Sidibe he'd be dangerous. As it is, he isn't. Did he actually make it into their box at all?

Hayles 5 - Tries but he's pretty useless ultimately, ponderous, finishing not good enough. Quite tricky on the ball but he doesn't ever seem capable of troubling a keeper. A sad state of affairs when he's our most celebrated player, when he wasn't even particularly special at 26, let alone 36.

Subs didn't come on in time to warrant a rating. Nice one Ollie.

Ian Holloway 0 - Poor lineup, poor formation, gormless management during the game, showed no signs of changing things and still hasn't fixed anything that's wrong with our team. fook off you useless, bottling nob.

Henderson 8 - People slated him earlier in the season but he has been our star performer over the last 5/6 games.

Stearman 8.5 - Absolutely outstanding.

McAuley 7.5 - Good defensively but should have scored.

N'Gotty 7.5 - Bit slow but good game

Mattock 7 - Last we'll see of him.

Bell 7.5 - Tried hard.

Oakley 6 - Most disappointing buy of the season

Worley 7- Huge tackle in first half, did well.

Hume 7 - Tried hard and produced a couple of nice touches

Howard 4 - Shit

Hayle 5 - Shit but tried.

Spot on.

I was at the game and only Hendo and the defence are worth mentioning other than Hume who remembered he was in a game towards the end.

From TV

Overall 5 - We defended well, but Stoke were poor going forward. We had absolutely no clue going forward though and failed to string just a couple of passes together. We did what we shouldn't have done, which was play exactly the way Stoke wanted us to play. Holloway copped out. He left two donkeys up front that would've NEVER gotten anywhere near goal. He could've just as well started with Fryatt too instead of Oakley as he was just surpassed anyway. We deserved to go down on this display.

Henderson 8 - Did very well. kicking didn't amount to much though.

Stearman 8 - Gave all he had. He couldn't make a breakthrough but he stormed up front at any given opportunity and could've gotten lucky with his header.

McAuley 7 - Great at the back and oh so nearly scored.

N'Gotty 5 - Didn't do a whole lot wrong, but he barely contained Fuller and didn't contribute to anything when we had the ball.

Mattock 6,5 - Did alright, but with the whole team so embarrassingly disjointed, he couldn't do much. His surging runs in the 2nd half thus didn't lead to anything.

Worley 5 - OK I guess... what was he there for though?

Oakley 4 - Who? Where?

Bell 5,5 - What is he gonna do when he gets little support? And when he got it he didn't deliver. Some good corners though.

Hayles 2 - What a ****ing embarrasment. This guy should never EVER play more than 30 minutes of football at most.

Hume 7 - He was our only genuine threat, which doesn't say much though. He wasted the few openings we had, and we really could've done with another of his important goals. Unfortunately those he has scored this term are now irrelevant. That free kick... urgh...

Howard 5,5 - Well, as long as kept the ball up in the air, he was our only hope of creating anything. He did what you could ask of him, but seeing as Stoke loved it, it didn't bring a whole lot. The whole point of having a man like this is to get supporting midfielders to push up and force the defense back, but "midfield" is not in Holloways vocabulary based on this showing!

Fryatt N/A

Chambers N/A

Holloway - The guy was clueless, the team was clueless. We knew how to defend, but we had no clue how to score. Our play smacked of despair, and so did the fans' faces out there today...

I'm broken...

From being at the game

Henderson 7 - 'We've got Paul Henderson' - Great performance, he's been consistently good for us since getting back in the side

Stearman 8 - MOM for me - He was literally giving everything he had. Great season Richard and if we can keep hold of him in the summer then, as Thrac has mentioned, I think we could be looking at next season's captain

McAuley 7 - Pretty solid game I thought

N'gotty 5 - How we missed Kisnorbo at the back today

Mattock 7

Worley 5

Oakley 4

Bell 6

Hume 7 - Effort, commitment and passion - typical Hume performance (bit gutted about the free kick but if certain players had shown this level of commitment then I'm damn sure we wouldn't be in this position)

Howard 2 - Words fail to describe how woeful he was today

Hayles 5

God only knows what Ollie was doing bringing Chambers and Fryatt on that late in the game, I wanted to see Chambers on much earlier than that and get Howard off the pitch

Henderson- 8: Made three fine saves, would be good for next season.

Stearman- 7: Everywhere, good performance.

N'Gotty- 7: Marked Fuller closely, looked solid.

McAuley- 6: Solid as ever, unlucky with the header.

Mattock- 7: Coped well with Lawrence.

Bell- 6: Tried hard, didn't see much of the ball.

Oakley- 4: Anonymous.

Worley- 6: Made a couple of good tackles, tried to pass it.

Hayles- 5: Ran a lot, not his best game.

Hume- 7: Great effort today, denied by a great save, showed nice touches.

Howard- 3: Was he even playing?

Subs-

Fryatt- N/A

Chambers- N/A

Holloway- 5: Set the side up well, but didn't gamble later on.

Don't know if this had been mention anywhere but Henderson was in the team of the week!

Well deserved too I reckon. Some people on 606 (non-lcfc fans) were putting him in their championship team of the season. Hope he continues this form in League 1 next season

A "quality tackle" is one that wins the ball, not one that leaves a player needing stitches. If Wilkinson had stayed down or the ref not bottled it, Howard could have been off.

And just how many corners did Leicester win during the first half?

Holloway went to Stoke after a draw, but didn't have a clue what to do when his gamble went tits-up.
