90% in 2 minutes 28 seconds lol

How do 10 multiple choice questions take 2 and a half minutes to answer unless you looking up the answer on another screen lol

When you get home from work after doing some visits, in the process of getting changed and then get an urgent call to go back out for an emergency.

so this emergency was where a property was found to be insecure and we have a responsibility to make sure it's secure. this is what was inside and what we have to experience, sadly, on a regular basis. Absolutely disgusting.

Jeezus @StanSP that's gross. How can people live that way?

I hope you get sufficiently compensated for having to deal with stuff like that.

When you're riddled with all kinds of dangerous drugs and under the influence of cheap alcohol, people don't care! They just need a place to do it and that's all that matters to them.

Sadly, it's seen as part of the role so I don't get any extra financial reward for going through it lol. It costs our company upwards of £10,000 (at the very least) to re-do a property like that - would have to be redecorated all through out, kitchen would need to be replaced, electrical wiring most likely needs to be redone, flooring replaced, professional clean throughout.

It really is a travesty though that people feel like they can treat properties like this, but then I remind myself of the first point above!

Wow, you're a better man than me mate. Not sure I'd be quite as understanding as you!

Jealousy will get you nowhere in life, Matt.

I devoted an extra 20 seconds to the quiz compared to you (71 seconds compared to 51). I view that as time well spent.

The evidence is there in the results. I scored 70 and you scored 30. I am currently placed 3rd in the table, while you are in a relegation struggle. I am a winner, whereas you are a loser.

People are now aware of my expertise in astronomy (lol). For you, they are aware only of your ignorance, your rashness and your jealousy.

My advice to you is to adopt the socialist values of aspiration and thought. Think on't, young man!

Not questioning that there are some people who cheat on them, but for me at least I often do them when I'm commuting (train wifi on mobile) or at home on an old laptop, so I'm usually waiting at least a minute total just for the questions to load lol

As i get older (still in my 30s and young of course) i find myself re-reading questions or text as if i have to analyze the question  word by word lol. Did i read that right? Read it again. Make an assessment.  I guess working in IT has made me that way but not like my job has made me do well on the actual quizzes lol

It's not cool to criticise the NHS, but it's fvcking annoying when you turn up for an appointment - only to be told it was cancelled.

My missus has been told that she may have MS & she's been in bits for a few weeks now.  An appointment was made at the General for this morning, so that more tests can be carried out.  We both took time off from work (for which I don't get paid being self-employed), waded through a load of traffic, paid for parking........."oh sorry, the appointment was cancelled.  Didn't you get the letter?"

Yeah, we got the letter.  That's we we're both stood here like a couple of spare pricks.

Disgraceful, that.

My guess is that it is a result of funding being tight - and being focused on front-line services (or management/accountants, to be cynical?). It's often hard to get hold of hospital office staff if you phone up, too. I know front-line services are the most important, but you do still need a functioning administrative system so that information circulates adequately.

In the past, I've had to chase up hospital letters that took a couple of months to arrive. I've also received letters dated about a month before I actually received them - presumably drafted but not typed or stuck in internal mail for a month.

Fortunately, in my case, these have just been letters reporting on non-urgent results of appointments or making appointments well in advance. That's terrible what happened in your/your missus' case - enough stress without that.

Hope you both find out what's going on soon (and preferably get some good news).

It would be nice to know either way.  Even if it's bad news.....it's the not knowing.

I could have flown off the handle (I wanted to) but like you say, there's plenty of reasons why it could have happened & I don't like any of them.  The receptionist seemed sympathetic & well practised in apologising for things she has no control over.  Me losing my rag would have only made a bad situation worse.

My mum's got MS. Fingers crossed they're wrong. Horrible disease.

That said, the earlier it's treated the better your prospects and they've learned a lot in 30 years. I mean nobody had a ****ing clue about interferons in the late 80s.

Still, good luck to you both.

I know what you mean about the not knowing. I had blood tests last Monday and the nurse said the results would be back in about a week, and the doctor would only ring me if there was a problem. I got a text message asking me to make an appointment to see the doctor within 24 hours, but the first appointment was not until tomorrow morning. Obviously I asked the receptionist if she could see any problems but she said she couldn't discuss it with me.

Cue a very long and anxious wait.

Cheers mate

It started off with having a dead leg that wouldn't go away.  Went to the docs to see if it was a trapped nerve & it's kind of escalated from there.

A lady I know has had it many years (30+ years), so I've an idea what's in store, should it come to that.  I guess each case is different, but I've reassured her that it doesn't change anything as far as the two of us are concerned.

Each case is very, very, very different to be fair.

My mother went to a few ms support groups in the earlier days and had a best friend with ms that she bonded with because of the disease. Lots of highly, highly functioning people.

This best friend essentially just lived with some occasional chronic fatigue and episodes of pins and needles and this was a woman in her fifties who'd had the disease most her life. For some people that's the extent of it so even if you get a result of positive, it's really not the end of the world.

Meeting my mother would terrify and depress anyone diagnosed with the disease as basically every possible symptom she has, chronically and severely. It's a mess. But she's also a completely freak and unfortunate case.

Plus, like I said, they've made so many breakthroughs over the last twenty years that my mum was just too late for as by and large they slow down the onset symptoms so the earlier you start the better.

I came on to complain about waiting for my Australian Visa, but I think I have that in perspective now!

I wish you all the best of luck.  My Father in law has had MS for 30 odd years and he just retired from his $250k a year role working 1 month on 1 month off in the oil industry in Kenya, so not everyone has life restricting symptoms.  He does go in for every bullshit eating fad he finds online though!!
