It’s been flawless at my firm, and we’re not exactly Microsoft. Get better systems in place.

The anachronistic idea that people should sit in their cars in traffic everyday to arrive at an office for a set time needs to be confined to the dustbin of history for many reasons, not least environmental.

VMS

I live Over 2 hours from my office just seems sensible to work at home.

This must be a popular one, but people saying 'Athletico' Madrid instead of 'Atletico' never fails to get on my tits.

People who say the Premiership.

It was only that for a few seasons FFS. We're not in Scotland.

Paul Merson (I know) mentioned a team called Zenith St Petersburg last night.

Definitely get the bit about the work/life balance. This hasn’t been a problem for me, as I just treat my back bedroom like an office, I.e. I leave at 5.30 after shutting down my computer.

Re. communication, I’ve actually found it has improved since working remotely. Using teams to communicate with people means you can get their proper attention and be more efficient and concise with interactions.

Everybody and every organisation is different.

How do you find not being in the office from a social contact point of view? I'm a sociable person and couldnt face using my bedroom as an office for 40 hours a week. I also couldn't run the business from home, you need to be at the workplace to do this.

I communicate with my colleagues via Teams, and it keeps me in the loop just fine.

It’s ultimately a trade off: is the face-to-face contact with colleagues worth more to you than the time saved by not commuting. In my case it isn’t.

My Mrs hates it. She works from home probably 50% of the time.

She can't stand that she's in the living room or bedroom working all day, then sits in the house in her downtime too.

Mosquitoes.

The only species that kill more humans than humans do, and the only species where I would advocate for targeted extermination programs.

Also the bites fvcking itch.

Technically, they don't, it's the pathogens they carry.

Pedantry aside, I hope you were speaking out of frustration because - like everything thing else - mosquitos play a vital part in ecosystems worldwide:

Maybe we should look to eradicate the pathogens rather than the host?

Targeted extermination is already happening here in china. They are releasing millions of infertile mosquitos to breed with the fertile ones therefore killing off the species. They've already managed to completely get rid of them on some islands and are making in roads on the main land too. I can't wait for the day I can sleep without mosquito sticks burning. They are such a nuisance.

Yep, of that I'm aware, and additionally I'm aware that only a handful of mosquito variants are vectors for those pathogens. That's what I meant by targeted, really; I think exterminating those few subspecies would not adversely affect ecosystems. It would be easier than targeting the pathogens directly IMO.

I’m the same, it’s fvcking depressing sat in my dark room all day. We’re back in the office some days but I’d still rather work from home rather than losing 2 hours of my day travelling back and forth.

it’s also a nightmare since we don’t even have free water never mind coffee, so can’t even get up and make a cuppa or something to eat like I could at home. Going back seems a bit pointless to me anyway, they’ve made so many bullshit Covid restrictions that we don’t even have meetings and split us into groups so I never see my boss and sit miles away from my team.

Wfh any day over a commute into an office for me.

I get more sleep,  less stress due to no driving, get more time with the kids, better breakfasts/lunch,  get to eat dinner earlier.

I do miss seeing the fit ladies at work but pornhub solves that.  Lol

Try a walk in centre where anyone can go? There's one near me: Merlyn Vaz on Humberstone Road. There must be others. Try a search. Haven't been since before covid but the longest I had to wait was 3 hours. Usually, it was much less.

GPs in the week. Only nurses at weekends. Think they close at 6.30 not 8.00 as stated on its website. Best to call first, if you live some distance away.

They're all telephone unless the doc decides they need to see you in person so I'd ring a few clinics tbh

It's a joke nowadays. My GP surgery used to be so much better than it is now. They also use an online booking system to book appointments and the first one I can get is two weeks from the date I look.

It was like this pre-covid too, absolute joke.

The whole deemed obstruction of goalies in offside positions is so open to abuse by goalies.

Sanchez made the most of making it look like Barnes was in the way and it could be argued Kasper made it known someone was in front of him when the Norwich header was out of his reach.

Nothing stopping keepers stepping towards players when they know they arent getting close to stopping a certain goal.

Expect the likes of Klopp and Pep getting their keepers to take advantage.

And it is nailed on to be one of those things where not every goal is disallowed.

When did players not become interested in the ball though?

Why is an attacking player more interested in putting a goalkeeper off? Fvcking watch the ball, we've got a corner.
