Who's paying £5 for a bowl of cereal?!

North Londoners, it's amazing what that lot will pay excessive money for.

Anti hipster rioting lol

Fantastic. Not actually, obviously, but raised a smirk. Sorry Marsh.

Completely wouldn't condone that at all and most of all it's actually just really stupid but hey ho.

A hipster civil war is a conflict we can all get behind.

Are all the riots going to take place in obscure places you've probably never heard of?

And forget uniforms, the battles will be fought in Hungarian second division replica shirts.

I've lived in London for 16 years and this pretty much sums it up.

Despite him having a mental illness, absolutely doesn't give him any sympathy for doing this.

Got to disagree with you about this.

I've known several people who've suffered similar mental health problems (though their psychotic delusions didn't lead them to harm others, only to behave bizarrely and/or harm themselves - a more common effect).

I have great sympathy for the bloke killed and the torment caused to his family. But I do have sympathy for the bloke who did the killing, too, assuming he was genuinely in a psychotic state - as the court has accepted.

What does/will it feel like for him, if he comes to his senses and realises what he's done?

I'm not saying he should be released. He shouldn't be released until experts are confident that there's no danger of him repeating such violence.

But there's a big difference between beating someone to death because you're mentally ill, and doing so out of sheer malice.

Absolutely, Alf.

He's done a terrible thing, but there's a reason he did it - he's a paranoid schizophrenic.  It doesn't make it OK - it's a reason, not an excuse.

Anyway, here's some light relief, whilst still qualifying for the thread, I reckon:

The bloke in the dock has an axe to grind so big you probably couldn't pick it up, but folk are pretty consistent in their reports of what she's like to work with.  The one positive of Murdoch taking her on again is that at least she won't become YOUR boss any time soon

For all the hideous things that people get up to that have been immortalised in this thread, what the Sun is doing with this particular campaign is the very apogee of c*untiness.  They could encourage people to do the right thing, but instead they encourage them to be c*nts just to sell newspapers.  This is hot on the heels of getting James Delingpole to basically just make some stuff up about climate change for no apparent reason.

This bloke in the Guardian sums up pretty much what I feel without me having to bother, so thanks Peter Walker.

Bus drivers think they own the road. He should be locked up, imagine one of his passengers needed to get some medicine and he keeps them held up like that. Sack him and jail him for attempted murder.
