Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 10 March 2014 Posted 10 March 2014 Mario Kart on the N64 occasionally we used to play it all day at work, we used to get so wrapped up in it we had a bike and a strimmer pinched from our shed while we were sitting in it!
kingcarr21 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Halo 3 hands down i hated halo 3 but only did the first 2 missions then gave up but i was never a massive fan of halo. Although halo 2 was pretty good. I think my PS3 fanboy was too strong to give halo 3 a fair chance.

Guest kristianity77 Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Dark Souls for me, closely followed by ICO for the trusty old PS2
Langston Posted 11 March 2014 Posted 11 March 2014 Already mentioned I see, but both the Shenmue games really were mindblowingly good.
kingcarr21 Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 Halo single player is irrelevant. I was too much of a COD fanboy to get into halo online. Hated the controls and the way it played but i suppose if i stuck at it my thoughts on Halo being s**t would probably be wrong. Also i much prefer Playstation so i was most likely being biased and not giving the Xbox a chance.
Finnegan Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 I've played both extensively and I prefer COD but I'd say Halo requires a fair bit more learning and skill (that coming from someone who usually hates such arguments.) It's a gold standard in fps multilayer. COD is accessible and easy to pick up but it's generic and basic.

I guess i could just never be bothered to get good at Halo. I played Halo 2 online quite abit and loved that but was disappointed with Halo 3. but i was probably just so used to COD that i couldnt be bothered to put the effort in with Halo 3 to be competitive.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 13 March 2014 Posted 13 March 2014 I used to love Halo 2 and when I first got a 360 I put so much time into Halo 3 - I found I only ever really played well if I was paired with someone of similar skill I've found it really hard to go back to since I stopped playing a few years ago - might be that it takes time to get back into but I can't stand not being able to aim down sights.
foxfanazer Posted 21 March 2014 Posted 21 March 2014 Excluding football managers etc Tomb raider 2 Crash Bandicoot
FoxesAreBlue Posted 22 March 2014 Posted 22 March 2014 San Andreas Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 Cars Bandicoot 3 Gran Turismo International Track and Field
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 Tussle between Medal of Honour Frontline and FIFA 98. Yes, Medal of Honour Frontline, what a fantastic game, instantly grabbed me from the Normandy Beach landing. And it was rock hard, I am sure games were harder back then. Took me ages to get off the beach at the start. As well as Mario Kart on the N64, and Super Mario world on the Snes, I also loved Gta Vice City and San Andreas, Mod Warfare 2 and Black Ops, and most recently The Last Of Us.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 23 March 2014 Posted 23 March 2014 San Andreas Metal Gear Solid 1 & 2 Cars Bandicoot 3 Gran Turismo International Track and Field Love that one. Who'd have thought they'd have made one Cars / Crash Bandicoot crossover, let alone 3!
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 A few glarring omissions from this thread, had to create an account! Half Life Half Life 2 Unreal Tournament Counter Strike Portal Portal 2 Shadow Of The Collosus Jak And Daxter Earthworm Jim Already mentioned and agreed with, Crash 3, Tomb Raider II, Silent Hill 2.
Finnaldo Posted 25 March 2014 Posted 25 March 2014 Half life! How could we forget.? First game I got for my new PC was Half Life 2. For a game released 10 years ago its still absolutely fantastic. Brilliant little play through for like £4 whilst I saved for some other games. Picked up the Black Mesa mod for HL2 as well which recreates the original game, although haven't got round to putting in a full shift on it yet.
Tom's Pasta Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 GTA: San Andreas without hesitation. Must have completed it four times at least and I absolutely loved it. Special mentions to worms armageddon, croc, crash bandicoot and all the old fifas
Sampson Posted 29 March 2014 Posted 29 March 2014 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-HhS4djBL4 Will never forget putting the disc in for the first time at night with the lights out and my headphones in and seeing that intro. Surely, the most iconic intro scene to a game ever? You could just tell from the very moment this game was a bit special.

Buzzell Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Was so tempted to download Resident Evil 1, 2 & Nemesis and Silent Hill 1 & 2 from the PS Store. Might do it one day and just blast them one after another. Great memories from them games. I remember absolutely shitting myself when I first played Resident Evil, and then I bought Resident Evil 2, playing it in my Nan's front room with all my cousins watching me. Good times.
dmayne7 Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Red dead Revolver and Star Wars Battlefront would be right up there for me.
wattolcfc Posted 14 April 2014 Posted 14 April 2014 GTA: Vice City - Tommy Vercetti was a great character! or Oblivion
