Raj Posted 20 March 2009 Posted 20 March 2009 How will this change goal music??? It just will OKAY????
Hullfox Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I bet you could hear Sheff Wednesday, I certainly did when they won 1 v 4 & i was in E3 as it was then at the top of the south stand. I didn't say I couldn't hear the away support, I said I couldn't hear L/K block very often except for the drum. I'll bow to your superior knowledge on stadium design and acoustics though.
Guest Posted 31 March 2009 Posted 31 March 2009 I don't know if anyone was listening to RL this morning (I only have it on for the traffic and sports news). They did a feature on a young family who are STHs in the North Stand. The 2yr old kid was too shy to sing a "football song", but one of his older sisters did. I recognised the tune the 3yr old was badly copying. It was "Chelsea Dagger". Someone on the tape could be heard saying "aww, she's even doing the arm actions". I will probably get stick for this, but I really did feel like crying.

When I were her age I was singing 'in yer Nottingham slums, yer mums on the game and yer dads in the knick, yer can't get a jog cos yer so fecking thick, in yer Nottingham slums'. Kids of today eh Lease! Lightweights.

I reckon we should ban these kids from the ground

I actually nearly did once when I heard a kid doing it.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 1 April 2009 Posted 1 April 2009 Chelsea Dagger.... kinell One of the reasons I stopped going to that music when we scored was becuase MK Dons fans actually started doing the arm action without the music playing, and when it did they loved it. I DO NOT WANT TO BE LIKE MK DONS FANS... and will not.
leicesterseddon Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 http://www.bcfc.com/page/TenPointPledge/0,...1614169,00.html so brum city have got rid of goal music - could this be a way forward? EDIT: actually it's probably a road to nowhere if it involves the club actually listening to the fans
The Doctor Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 If we are going to have music after the goals rather than the post horn gallop or just fans celebrating how they want to celebrate can't we use a track from a local band instead of the frattellis to give us something local to be proud about seeing as the football won't do it at the moment.
The Doctor Posted 6 April 2009 Posted 6 April 2009 How will this change goal music??? The kop is generally where most of the atmosphere is generated, put that next to the visiting fans so that they are sandwiched between the kop and the standing group and suddenly the ground is noiser, the city v visitng fans banter gets louder and, poof, the goal music is oboslete and so it is gone. Also it would make the ground more intimidating for the visitors. Sorry leicesterseddon what i ment to say was The kop is generally where most of the atmosphere used to be generated

Stevosevic Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Only an observation from watching on TV, but... Did they wait longer to play the Chelsea Dagger today, actually allowing the fans to celebrate properly?
Fosse Boy Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 They did play the Dagger, but no one noticed. Not even me! However, I was delighted that we came out to an old school version of the PHG. Set the tone for the day.
Corky Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Only an observation from watching on TV, but...Did they wait longer to play the Chelsea Dagger today, actually allowing the fans to celebrate properly? I don't know, but there was a delay, certainly. Maybe the club have listened to some opinions?
Craig Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Only an observation from watching on TV, but...Did they wait longer to play the Chelsea Dagger today, actually allowing the fans to celebrate properly? It seemed to take an age. I thought they'd done the right thing and ditched it, i thought wrong.
Corky Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 It seemed to take an age. I thought they'd done the right thing and ditched it, i thought wrong. I hardly noticed it was on though, so I'm not going to complain about it today.
Matt Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I didn't even notice Chelsea Dagger today, I was just going mental, Just shows how special and important todays goal was, It is just all a blur really,
Asha Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Only an observation from watching on TV, but...Did they wait longer to play the Chelsea Dagger today, actually allowing the fans to celebrate properly? Yes they waited 30-35 seconds before playing it. Not as good as binning it altogether but it was definately an improvement. The original PHG was another good point, but how many bad notes did the bloke hit?
leftsideoverhere Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I don't know, but there was a delay, certainly.Maybe the club have listened to some opinions? ... and they played Heroes in Blue and White loud enough for people to hear the lyrics, too. It got a much better reception today. What with that, and the PHG played live, the pre-game was the best we've had in a long while, despite the PHG actually not being played all that well! Needs more than one outing per season, I think.
Daggers Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I hardly noticed it was on though, so I'm not going to complain about it today. My God! The green lines, the corner flag and now this? Did nothing go right today?

I thought the horn and HiB&W really worked. Would love them every home game hereonin. (Maybe with someone who can play the horn)
