Why the fook should Clem be handed the captaincy back? It's not like he was our life long skipper or a club hero or something.

He was just the most senior player in a very crap squad that went down.

The question shouldn't be why Clemmence shouldn't get it back, but why Oakley should have to give it up?

Agree totally. Oakley should at lesat keep the captaincy.

I think Wellens could be a good captain.

Why? You seen him play regularly?? And was he captain at Doncaster?

Talking to the blackpool fan at work and he seems to think we'll do well to get wellens to finish a game without getting sent off let alone make him captain.

He will be without doubt one of the top defenders in the championship next season. The fact that he came to us in league 1 still astounds me to this day.

Happy birthday fella!

Честит рожден ден! :scarf:

Didnt actually realise he was that old. Oh well he'll be playing way into his forties :)

Tunchev has as many birthdays as he wants. Fact.

From OS

The Foxes trip to Slovenia last week has already paid dividends with defender Aleksandar Tunchev now fully recovered from his knee injury last season and ready for action now.

The Bulgarian international is all set to play some part in the friendlies resuming tomorrow night at Mansfield and at Shrewsbury on Saturday and his progress has come as a pleasant surprise to the City coaching staff.

Assistant manager Craig Shakespeare said of Tunchev: "He has surprised me really because we were not sure after his injury what stage he would be at but he has joined in all the training, probably not ready for a full game against Loughborough or Tamworth at first but he is starting to look better and will take part.

"We all saw last year what a good player and good reader of the game he could be and I am sure he will have a big part to play this year."

A big part of the trip to the training base was integrating the new faces into the City scene and again Shakespeare felt this was a big success.

He said: "They have settled in fine and one of the reasons for a pre-season tour is for them to settle in as well with the old players and new players together."

As for the actual training itself, Shakespeare said: "It is all about getting ready for the start of the season.

"We had a really good five days. It was my first experience, probably the players as well when we haven't had a game. On the plus side we were able to get in three sessions a day mixing it with conditioning and real physical training.

"We had feedback from the players who said they enjoyed it although they didn't say that when they were running and the sweat was pouring from them! But the work they got in them will hopefully stand them in good stead.

"It was a very beneficial five days. We are still in the pre season stage and all things considered it has gone well."
