I think he could you know. It's happened before where one striker dries up and the other takes up the mantle. It would certainly be nice if he could - he deserves to get a decent tally.

Absolutely

Really hope he does just to prove a few people wrong too

I reckon he can.

I wonder which option Maddog will vote for?

Its not impossible :P

Can he head the ball to our player, can he win headers, can he time headers beautifully from crosses, can he attack the ball well with his head, can he score headers :dunno:

Errrr

NO

Which makes him a shit target man.

I think he'll get there.

He's put in so much effort this season and scoring 20 will be the perfect way to end his season :). Think he'll get his 20th on either against Leeds or Scunny :)

He's had no crosses to meet tbh.

Good luck to the bloke in trying. He's been such an inspiration to us.

There's no disguising the thrill he gets scoring for us or how much he appreciated that "Super Steve" chant last night after he'd missed an excellent chance.

That instant show of support was the perfect reaction by our fans to the miss, and how he repaid us.

I remember saying he'll get 20 yet, and being pretty much joking. This might have been at home to Posh.

Not impossible though, would love it if he does.

I voted not impossible.

Would be delighted if both of our main strikers hit 20.

And once again, you're contradicting your own opinion. May I refer to your praise for Howard after the Hartlepool match yesterday?

Numpty

I voted for "It's not impossible", because should Fryatt continue with this drought, we need Super Steve's impact.

My guess is he'll end up with 18.

I never knew there was a position called 'target man'. I know there's a position called striker which means scoring goals and assisting in a lot of goals and he's done a lot of that recently.

He didn't score a header though did he :dunno:

Ollie signed him to score headers from crosses, he scored plenty of headers at Derby and Luton, infact a lot of them.

If he scores 5 headers between now and the end of the season my opinion will change.

Clearly the problem must be with our wingers who can't cross or surely Howard would have scored more than 1 header in over 1 year since he joined :dunno:

Think about all the blatant free header chances hes missed and other half chances, and others where hes been totally out of position to attack and head the ball.

Or maybe Howards past it now who fooking knows.

Id like to see him head the ball in like Elliott, Walsh, Les Ferdinand etc used to do please.

Holloway signed him as a target man, target men are not just used to score headers but also used to hold the ball up, which he does, bring other people in, which he does, create chances which he does, and score goals which he is doing.

Just because he is not scoring headers you don't like him? surely the fact that he is playing well, scoring goals and setting up other should aid your decision?

And iirc he had 2/3 good efforts yesterday with his head.
