sham Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Paul Anderson from Liverpool. Loan would be more probable. Nippy Winger.
tartanowl Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 A goalkeeper is required so we have a few to stab at. Joe Lewis [Peterborough United] Joe Murphy [s****horpe United] David Stockdale [Fulham] David Martin [Liverpool] Kelvin Davies [southampton] - A little dodgy though I would like a full back as well. Although I would attempt for Gilbert, we need a few back up plans - don't know many right backs though. Kerrea Gilbert [Arsenal] Frank Simek [sheffield Wednesday] Midfielders are key. I would have a stab at a few so there is competition. Zheng Zhi [Charlton Athletic] Andrew Surman [southampton] Rudolf Skacel [southampton] Peter Leven [Milton Keynes Dons] Although I would start with Fryatt and Howard, we need a striker or two for competition. Rickie Lambert [bristol Rovers] Marek Sagnowski [southampton] Marcus Tudgay [sheffield Wednesday] Simon Cox [swindon Town] None of these, apart from Tudgay, are big men really and we need one of those. Any ideas? Marcus is only 5'11" but he's deceptively good in the air. Has a very good leap. We really need a striker to partner him. He's the PFA Championship player of the year this season and under a long term contract so he'd cost any suitors big time. Simek might move. He's been kept out of the team at right back since returning from injury by Lewis Buxton. Good, solid player, I'd be sad if he left. Possible keepers:David Stockdale - Fulham David Martin - Liverpool Joe Murphy - S****horpe Joe Lewis - Peterborough Owain Fon Williams - Stockport Possible right backs: Frank Simek - Sheffield Weds Kerrea Gilbert - Arsenal Jon Otsemobor - Norwich Derek Geary - Sheff Utd Danny Coid - Blackpool Possible centre backs: Wayne Brown - Hull Sam Sodje - Reading Possible left backs: Djimi Traore - Portsmouth Steven Hammell - Motherwell Emilliano Insua - Liverpool Possible Right mids: Nathan Dyer - Sothampton Akos Buzsaky - QPR Possible centre mids: Andrew Surman - Southampton Zheng Zhi - Charlton Matt Holland - Charlton Gavin Mahon - QPR Darron Gibson - Man Utd Darren Ambrose - Charlton Sean McAllister - Sheffield Weds Steven Appiah - free agent Possible left mids: Peter Halmosi - Hull Possible forwards: Simon Cox - Swindon Rickie Lambert - Bristol Rovers Rowan Vine - QPR Jermaine Beckford - Leeds Utd Danny Welbeck - Man Utd Federico Macheda - Man Utd Paul Hayes - S****horpe Adriano - free agent These are all potential signings tbh, all would be worth a shot, some are unreal I know but see what you lot think. Nice to see Sean getting some recognition. He's a very talented young man. David Ngog(loan) Insua(loan) Beckford if leeds dont go up Cox, lambert (not championship quality) Varney I'm hoping we sign Varney. He was excellent in his loan spell for us.
MC Prussian Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Frank Simek seems to be a decent shout. Injury aside, Kasey Keller did well for us, so why not another Yank? Bridge, Smudge, placidcasual, Jordan and purpleronnie might fancy that, too.
General Smuts Posted 7 May 2009 Author Posted 7 May 2009 If were talking american players i want Jeff Agoos.
daveyboy Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Cech looking to leave West BromWest Brom full-back Marek Cech is keen to leave the club this summer after seeing his route to the first team blocked by long-serving Paul Robinson. The Slovakian international has made only two Premier League starts since arriving from FC Porto last summer. "My season here is the worst of my career," Cech told BBC WM. "For sure I'm looking to a change of club because of this year - I think things won't change here, I need to leave to play whole games." Cech, 26, is anxious that his largely inactive year in the Premier League should not risk his berth in a Slovakian squad that has done well in the World Cup qualifiers. "I'm a national player, I need to play. If I don't play I will lose my place in the national team," said the defender, who has played 34 times for his country. "We are first in the table now, we have a big chance to go to the World Cup, and if I'm not there I'd be very sad." Cech may come in out of the cold on Saturday for the Baggies' game with Wigan, as Robinson is struggling with the ankle injury he suffered at Tottenham last weekend. BBC Think he's already been mentioned, but definately worth a shout i reckon. Obviously havent seen much of him; but he is an international and played a bit a Porto, which offers some respectability. We do definately need to strengthen left back (Powell moving into coaching possibly and we are left with Mattock). I expect WBA would want approx. £1 mil for him maybe?

Joe. Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I think Chopra's already agreed to sign for Cardiff permanently, although I may be wrong.
Cobbo Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Anyone mentioned David Healy? Would be available I imagine and proven in the Champ (and international level, which doesn't seem to count for much).
Jimmy Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I bet we sign Harewood. I'd be happy with that, big physical striker with pace and more then good enough at Championship level
teblin Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 I'd be happy with that, big physical striker with pace and more then good enough at Championship level Agree with this, not sure he is more than good enough. But def good enough
Father Ted Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Paul Anderson from Liverpool. Loan would be more probable. Nippy Winger. Leicester born and bred I believe. Leroy Lita Marlon Harewood Luke Varney Any of those 3 would do nicely.

I spoke to him yesterday and suggested he consider city. He didnt reply.
Brainy Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 Why would Harewood's lad know what his dad's future plans are joke...
Dan Posted 7 May 2009 Posted 7 May 2009 My son goes to the same nursery as m harewood's lad. I spoke to him yesterday and suggested he consider city. He didnt reply. When you lie at least make it partly believeable.
jonw88 Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Leicester born and bred I believe. I went to school with Paul, was heartbroken when he signed for Forest last season! Had a few injury problems during the season but when he played the Forest team seemed to do much better. Mainly a right midfielder, can play in the centre or more attacking. Also won the FA youth cup with Liverpool, would be a good acquisition for us.

The Blur Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Lee Martin? a tricky winger from Man Utd- should provide some competition for Dyer/Gradel
foxoffderby Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 When you lie at least make it partly believeable. Harewood lives in desford. His son pharell and my son go to formarke hall which is a pre prep for Repton public school in Derbyshire. They are best mates. But thanks for your comments you ignorant twat.
TrickyTrev Posted 8 May 2009 Posted 8 May 2009 Lee Martin?a tricky winger from Man Utd- should provide some competition for Dyer/Gradel He's on a free apparently. We need a winger, so I don't think it would be a bad shout.
