They don't even have the match against Leicester on their website yet.

You wouldn't think our club just made that one fixture up to please the fans, would you? lol

To be fair its probably the best we could do...imagine Presidentey of Barca on the phone to our Mr Hoos.

"You want my Euro Winning football Club to have a pre season friendly at a pisshole place like Leicester when i can take them to Japan and get paid 30 million Euros???... :crylaugh::crylaugh: ......Get fcuked"...all this in a Catalan accent of course!!!

"Tell you what Mr Hoos...i'll send a team from a simliarly pisshole place in Spain to play at your pisshole place....Either that or you can ask Bolton?????? :D

Shamrock Rovers can get Real Madrid and Cristiano Ronaldo may make his debut, and with the greatest respect we get Real Valladolid....

Why do they have to patronise us with this guff?

If you want to show your appreciation Mr Mandaric make it as cheap as chips to get in!

Leicester City will round off their pre-season build-up with a glamour home friendly against La Liga side Real Valladolid on Sunday August 2, 3.00 kick-off.

The Spanish club, once managed by Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez, finished 15th in the table for the second season in a row in the last campaign, further consolidation after being promoted into the top flight in 2007.

This will be the Foxes sixth run-out before the big Championship kick-off against Swansea City at the Walkers Stadium on Saturday August 8 and will be the strongest test of the pre-season programme to ensure Nigel Pearson's men a fitting conclusion to their build-up.

City chairman Milan Mandaric wanted to show his appreciation to the fans for their efforts last season by bringing in prestigious opponents and said "It is a going to serve both purposes, firstly to give our manager and team a good test against a good skilful team from the top flight in Spain and also, importantly, to let our supporters see the quality of the team they will be getting behind in the very important season ahead.

"They will be able to see all the new players and the way the squad will be gelling into what we hope will be a very competitive team."

And the glamour tie bit

Would laugh if this was the story, sadly its honest:

Leicester have today confirmed that they will be playing the Bolton of Spain, a mediocre side also known as Real Valladolid, we would love to see 32,500 seats filled, but unfortunately we will only be opening the West Stand so that is not possible. Tickets available from just £15 for adults and £10 for kids.

Post match story: We thank you for your support of 8,000 that turned up for todays 0-0 draw with Bolton Valladolid.

I love Valladolid. Stop acting like spoilt brats over a bloody pre-season friendly. Not everyone can play the big 4, especially when they spend half the time playing in tournaments against other big European and world teams. Plankazoids.

Shame Asenjo won't be there by then but I can't make it anyway.

Meh. It's a pre-season friendly. I don't consider it a big tie but we could have done much worse. It's only a warm-up after all - pre-season these days is a joke anyway...the big teams play in far-flung countries simply to try and sell a few shirts, or play in these stupid televised 'tournaments' - e.g. the Amsterdam Tournament - what the f@*k is that?

I think our pre-season is fine.

Oh...if I remember rightly, when we played Real Sociedad at home in a friendly a couple of seasons ago, their coach brought his own fold-up bar chair with him lol

That's not the case al all Fezzler, I can't tolerate anymore spin! It's the suggestion that Valladolid is a glamour tie!

Is it really worth worrying about? I just take it for granted these days.

Not forgetting it's a 'special' reward for Leicester's super, duper fans!

None ST holders, those that boo, those that make a noise and the ones that don't want goal music especially those that don't want Chelsea Dagger are not welcomed though :P

This.

For a team of our current status (as opposed to where we once were) attracting ANY team from La Liga is a bonus.

The club will hardly say "We've got mediocre opponents for a pretty dull-looking friendly" will they, Kilworth? :P

I for one am very happy with Valladolid.

Fingers crossed Asenjo is still there. Henrik Goitom, Damien Escudero (if he re-signs), and Bartholomew Ogbeche will be fun to watch as well. I will be there fo sheezy.

It's the way the OS put things like '15th in La Liga'. Big whoop.

I wont be going anyway.

Thes pre-season 'glamour' friendlies are always rubbish, including the Barca game.

I am fed up with the volume of bullshit coming out of the club, it is not a glamour friendly at all is it??
