Fans who dont live in Leicester...

Recommended Posts

Well, as a person who lives in Leicester, it is only right that I remain a longtime supporter of Leicester City as my hometown team.

What im confused about is to why anyone who lives anywhere else would support Leicester City, so many other good teams out there and of course your hometeams, until a few months ago, Leicester had been doing really poorly for years.

Just a friendly question, nobody get their knife and fork ready to eat me...

Family connections, childhood "hero's"/favourite players.

Living in Mkt Bosworth it would have been so easy to say last season "sod this crap football, I'll go and support Covscum (who were also crap) or travel a bit further to Villa.

However being born and bred in Leicestershire, my mother being born in Leicester. My Grandfather having trials with Leicester City back in the 30's.

It makes sense to me to support Leicester City through thick and thin, no matter what happens, I'll be there.

Yes I did buy my season ticket yet again before the deadline.

Up the City. :scarf:

My dad took me to my first game in 1960 when we beat Man Utd 6-0!! - then in 1965 my mum and dad decided we were moving to Blackpool - but i was hooked and could never bring myself to support my local team - 44 years later although i dont get to as many games as i would like theres still only one team for me although i do go and watch Fleetwood Town now and again - I've got "upthefoxes" tattooed on me arm and my car reg plate is F3 XES - I also have every Leicester football programme home and away since 1953 bar 6 or 7 - One of my best mates Dennis is a mad keen City fan (even keener than me ) but was born and bred in Blackpool - he tells me he went to see them against Blackpool in the 60s and has been a City fan ever since

The father was born and bred in Leicester. He wasn't happy when I wanted to be a Man United fan and forced me into the good side. I'm so glad he did. As for not supporting the hometown team, I'm much happier supporting the might foxes than jumping on the Reading bandwagon. All their fans are about ten years old.

I am from Warwickshire born and bred but have supported Leicester all my life. It was because my dad and Grandad supported Leicester. I live closer to Coventry but there is only a few miles in it so Leicester is fairly local to me.

There are a lot of Leicester support in Nuneaton and if you scratch the surface a fair few in Atherstone where I live. Plenty of armchair fans.

When I go to hinckley which is in Leicestershire there seems more cov scum fans so I am staying here!

Lived in the shire when I was younger, and my old man supports them  . The two main factors as to why someone should support a team.

I only actually lived in Leicestershire for 3 years, from 1997 to 2000, I moved from the Bedfont/Feltham area to Loughborough and moved down to Basingstoke in 2000. I have quite alot of family in Leicestershire and alot of them support Leicester, though I only really got into football in 2003. (I used to just say i support Man United because they had alot of English players in 1998 and everyone else supported them.) I started to follow Leicester and just fell in love with them really and couldnt ever change.

Techinically my first game was against East Benegal in the Pepsi Max Challenge  but my first propper game was Reading away 04/05 in the FA Cup with Scowys last minute winner. It was absolute magic (allbeit my only away win I have actually seen and I have been to about 17 away games).

1) because i Hate Norwich City

2) because my dad does and took me to games when was a boy

3) The first game i remember was Newcastle 7 - 0 Leicester and i fell in love with them since then

4) Im not even from Leicester but every time i come up the A47 even to play the likes of Cheltenham Swindon this season it just makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

Will always support the citeh, Preston is ten miles away might as well be a million, it's not Leicester, loads of teams near, Manchester have got a few, a place called Liver pool has three or four, but there is only one Leicestershire

Didn't get a choice! Altho I was born in Leicester, lived in Melton Mowbray I then moved to the English Riveria when I was 2...always back and forth visiting family...dad indocrinated me into first game in early 90s when I was 4 or 5.... I remember going to games like Portsmouth away in the Playoffs straight after Primary School, went to the Wembley finals etc... went to Leicester uni 04 - 07 (pretty shocking period!), get to about 10-15 games a season home and away these days.

I beats 'following' a team like Arse/Utd/Chels...and some of shite down here, most of my mates follow Saints/Pompey etc.... I SUPPORT my team!

I came back from Southend when we won the League and said to all the glory boys down, you've never experience supporting a team until you support them at places like Orient, Yeovil, Swindon and then win the League at Southend, packed with 2,000 other fans behind the goal. Thats what its about!

Lived in Leicestershire all my life.

Supported them all my life.

Family supported them.

I can never see myself supporting another team unless i moved abroad somewhere.

Although i'm going back to the early 60s when I lived in Burbage at that time i didn't know anyone who followed the cov w**kers - perhaps its because they were in the 3rd div - I'll never forget that 8-1 drubbing we gave them at their place

I had a vision where Jesus told me to support Leicester City. It's sort of like how He told Taribo West where to play. :innocent:

All my mums family from Leicester and after my uncle took me to my first City game there was no looking back. So glad he did otherwise i could be supporting Leeds like most football supporters from York i know.
