Jimmy Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 yup and Top Gear was voted program of the decade on channel 4 tonight
Guest Bilo Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Amazing episode, that road of death was just ridiculous. Kind of puts a slightly icy A52 in perspective. Brilliantly shot but unlike some of the challenges (Africa challenge for instance) I felt absolutely no jealousy for the three lads doing the driving.
Finnegan Posted 27 December 2009 Posted 27 December 2009 Enjoyed it but was a bit disappointing compared to the Canada and Vietnam ones, I thought.
Shrenchel Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Amazing episode, that road of death was just ridiculous. Kind of puts a slightly icy A52 in perspective. Brilliantly shot but unlike some of the challenges (Africa challenge for instance) I felt absolutely no jealousy for the three lads doing the driving. In Bolivia?I know I'm going to sound like a type two wannabe cvnt but I went down that on a bike and later hanging out the back of an open-top lorry and to be honest there are fvck loads of roads more sketchy than that in Bolvia, let alone South America. I'll probably watch it later and be so petrified I'll eat my own shit, but didn't meet the hype at the time.
Finnegan Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Well I mean Top Gear are obviously going to hype it up for drama. I'm a big fan, I've watched all the specials but they're never in as much danger as they actually make out, there's more chance of them being hurt in a freak road test (a la Richard Hammond) than on one of those "missions." That said, going down that road on a bike or being driven by a local is probably somewhat safer / less terrifying than having to drive yourself in a pretty big, pretty heavy, pretty shit up old 4x4 with people coming the other way - especially given Richard Hammond's steering and suspension were next to useless and his breaks barely worked.
Daggers Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 The roads aren't the problem, it's the pissed-up bus driver coming the other way at 45mph while changing CD's and watching the pirated film on the DVD player.
Simi Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Really enjoyed it. Looked like Clarkson was ridiculously close to falling off at one point, didn't envy him at all.
lou Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Really enjoyed it.Looked like Clarkson was ridiculously close to falling off at one point, didn't envy him at all. That bit made me cringe like mad even though I knew hed obviously NOT fallen off it, it made me go all funny
purpleronnie Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 It was so staged, rocks falling down...yeah he was close to death. Do you believe hammond didnt know his 4x4 would roll down the dune? Gullable or what?
Matt Posted 28 December 2009 Posted 28 December 2009 Woah, Missed it last night it's on tonight though. It's just been the bit when Jeremy was close to side of that road.
hairy Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Clarkson and Hammond were in Market Harborough yesterday asking the locals how much they thought certain cars cost. Anyone see tham?
Haydos Posted 6 May 2011 Posted 6 May 2011 Clarkson and Hammond were in Market Harborough yesterday asking the locals how much they thought certain cars cost. Anyone see tham? Quite a few mates mentioned it on facebook and uploaded a few pics. Massive crowd around them on the high street.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Top Gear India Special in 20 minutes. Having been to India a month or two ago and seen first hand how ridiculous the driving is (and experienced how friendly the people are - both those who are trying to fleece you and those who aren't) I'm actually a bit excited about this. Damn you Clarkson!
Alexikokopops Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 They're going to Shimla! Although you're not allowed to drive in the centre of Shimla...
Alexikokopops Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Hindustan Ambassador! I don't care that I'm the only one posting. I love this country.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 It was actually pretty rubbish as an episode of Top Gear. Not really worth watching unless you want to see some bits of India.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 I used to be a HUGE fan but I do think it's had it's day now and they should quit whilst they are (relatively) ahead
acooling08 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Yeah the episode was ok, not as good as it used to be though.
Fox92 Posted 28 December 2011 Posted 28 December 2011 Rolls-Royce  Hindustan Ambassador! I don't care that I'm the only one posting. I love this country. lol
Amin Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Pretty poor episode tonight. The cricket at the end was good though.
Music Junkie Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Dave has been my daily source of Top Gear over the Christmas period. They cut it to within an inch of its life to get the ads in, but it's still a good romp.
purpleronnie Posted 29 December 2011 Posted 29 December 2011 Why did I sky+ this rubbish?????????????????
