Oakley, Clemence and now Wellens. Points to one thing - experience.

We still need a young 'up and at 'em' midfielder imo.

I guess now though the priority is getting 2 strikers in.

Oh, almost forgot - MM has splashed some cash!!! :P

Jesus some people will never be happy. Our midfield looks better than it has done in years, with also young talents like King, Asrit and even Weso I think is still knocking about. Striker next please!!

Oh and does anyone know anything on Clemence, is he actually training with 1st team now etc? I thought his career was pretty much over due to injury??

We still say undisclosed fee despite the Doncaster website stating 1.2m. ^_^

stating UPTO 1.2million this could be anything a long the lines of 500k upfront 300k after 50 games and 400k if we get promotion so it is pretty much undisclosed the full details of the fee are not known.

Sounds like a good signing, proven performer with Donny at Championship level and a skillful player by all accounts. As has been mentioned, the Doncaster fans seem disappointed to lose him for £1.2 million which shows how much they value him. Best of luck to him, and I hope we've found a gem.

I can see us making another signing towards the end of the week, for when we go to Slovenia, NP will want the team to bond out there, and get any new signings on board before then to help them settle in properly.

Hmmm 1.2million for a player nearly 30, not sure about this one to be honest, we're not exactly made of money! :fc: Lets just hope he plays a blinder for us while he's here!

At 29 I reckon he still got at least 3 or 4 good years in him.

Leicester City have today landed their seventh signing of the season when they sealed the transfer of midfielder Richie Wellens from Doncaster Rovers for an undisclosed fee.

The 29-year-old started his career at Manchester United playing alongside the likes of Wes Brown and John O'Shea before going to Blackpool in search of more first-team opportunities, playing 188 games and scoring 16 goals in his five years there then joined Oldham for two years, playing 87 games and scoring eight goals.

Joining Doncaster Rovers in 2007, Wellens was a vital player in their side who gained promotion to the Coca-Cola Championship and in his time there he won some individual awards, scoring several vital goals.

He follows the summer signings of Dany N'Guessan, Chris Weale, Astrit Ajdarevic, Robbie Neilson, Jack Hobbs and Wayne Brown as Foxes boss Nigel Pearson continues to build is squad for the new season.

This guy has the talent, will be the magic in midfield, but he does have a short fuse.... Still pleased we have signed him, could be the difference. :scarf:

Never seen him play but from the reaction of the Donny lot seems to have the class. :thumbup:
