Bert Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Typical cheating French. Exactly as I said though. Henry might as well be a basketball player.
Wycombe Fox Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 but they got the goal? thats the issue. they legitimately got the goal Sorry MPH but I don't understand what you're saying
StanSP Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Sorry MPH but I don't understand what you're saying Not the only one ROBBED!
MC Prussian Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 French bastewards. Hope they falter early and hard next year.
Wycombe Fox Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Not the only one I thought it was me!! It leaves a very bad taste
Finnegan Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 RE: "Linesman should have seen it." That's all very easy to say with the benefit of hind legs watching replays. Given that it happened in the blink of an eye I think it's harsh to blame the officials. Disappointing though, really. You expect more from Henry.
davieG Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 How can anyone be proud of winning a game like that, it makes me hate professional football. Any admiration I had for Henri vanished in that one moment.
StanSP Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Hope France get knocked out first time like 2002. Henry should be embarrassed about himself.
Simi Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 How does Richard Dunne sit there with Henry after knowing he did that? If I was an Irish player I would be right in his face telling him that he is a cheat and doesn't deserve the chance to play in another World Cup. That said, the French are a poor side under the current gaffer and they wont get far imo.
Alexikokopops Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Such good control by Henry for the France goal. ALLEZ LES BLEUS, ALLEZ LES BLEUS!
Bert Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Sorry MPH but I don't understand what you're saying I think I understand what he means, but it certainly was not a legitimate goal.
Asha Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Underdog I suppose.Egypt wouldn't have been thrashed though nor would have Algeria. Name the last time an African team look out of their depth at the World Cup. Angola. Disappointing though, really. You expect more from Henry. Maybe so, but in the heat of the moment in a World Cup Play Off second leg where a goal is absolutely vital? Hard to blame him really.

Spot on, but I don't understand how with some of the players they've got.
maddog Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Very upset for Ireland. Desperate to see another British nation in it, i don't really enjoy watching England that much. I'm more disappointed now than i will be when England crash out the world cup on penalties. My mums parents are Irish, i wanted them through so i could support England and Ireland.
lildave3 Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 I don't even think you can be angry at Henry, it just hit him really, you hardly expect him to turn round and say it shouldn't count. There is a World Cup place at stake. Saying that, looking at Henry at the end with Dunne I don't think he's too delighted with the way it was won.
Finnegan Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 How can anyone be proud of winning a game like that, it makes me hate professional football. Any admiration I had for Henri vanished in that one moment. Bit knee jerk. I'm disappointed but I think when you're pumped up with adrenaline and desperation you'll do all sorts of things. I certainly wouldn't condem him for that, I think what's important is how he deals with it afterwards. What made Maradona so shocking was the decades of denial and arrogance.

Surely you're doing that on purpose...
purpleronnie Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Trapattoni did an amazing job, Italian coaches really are fantastic. Such a shame that they went out in that way.
maddog Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Angola.Maybe so, but in the heat of the moment in a World Cup Play Off second leg where a goal is absolutely vital? Hard to blame him really. Angola played some nice football at the last world up. Oops i'm thinking of Costa Rica, who troubled Germany briefly thanks to Wanchope.

At first it hits him, then he flat out controls it with his hand and keeps it in play?! Madness.

If you think a double hand ball, the second of which was used to keep the ball in, as "just hitting him", you need to have another look my friend.
MPH Posted 18 November 2009 Posted 18 November 2009 Sorry MPH but I don't understand what you're saying i got from your original statement that..well.. its back to square one as they only needed one goal same as before they had scored. was simply pointing out that it shouldnt be that way as they had already got the 1 goal they needed and did it honestly.. only for Henry to cheat.
